Total Recall (2012) Trailer Hits The Web [Video]

Colin Farrell will be stepping into Arnold Schwarzzennegger’s shoes for the 2012 remake of Total Recall.

The Total Recall (2012) trailer hit the internet today featuring Farrell, Kate Beckinsdale, Jessica Biel and Bryan Cranston.

Here’s the synopsis, according to IMDB:

“As the nation states Euromerica and New Shanghai vie for supremacy, a factory worker (Farrell) begins to suspect that he’s a spy, though he is unaware which side of the fight he’s on.”

The movie is based on the Philip K. Dick’s short story “We Can Remember It for You Wholesale,” which was turned into a movie in 1990 with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sharon Stone, and Michael Ironside.

The movie doesn’t resemble the 1990 version of Total Recall (it looks more like a futuristic Bourne Identity) but Farrell is aware that he has some pretty big shoes to fill. At Comic-Con, Farrell described his character by saying:

“I play Douglas Quaid. An Australian expat who rises to prominence of body building. Continues into a very successful career in film which he finds to be the perfect platform for politics.”
