Killer Husband Buried Next To Wife: Remains Of Man Who Murdered Wife Buried Next To Her Grave

A killer husband’s remains is buried next to his wife’s grave in Elyria, Ohio.

PIX 11 reports that Marvin Dallas, who admitted to beating his wife to death in 1993, has been buried just inches from her grave. The woman’s daughter is horrified at the news. Elyria Law Director Scott Serazin says it’s not unusual for husbands and wives to be buried together. Conversely, he and the funeral home weren’t aware that Marvin Dallas was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in his wife’s death.

The Chronicle-Telegram reports that it was outlined in Marvin Dallas’ will to have his cremated remains buried over the grave of his wife in Elyria.

Crystal Denn — Mary Dallas’ daughter — is working to free her mother of her killer husband’s remains being buried next to her. She says it makes no sense to “bury a killer with his victim.”

The husband’s family doesn’t want his remains moved because they insist that’s where he wanted his final resting place to be. Marvin’s sister, Shirley Hill, said they aren’t going to move his ashes because that’s where he wanted to be.

If the murderer’s family isn’t willing to move his remains, Denn might have to live with it, according to the report. The funeral home was following the wishes of Dallas’ family, which is common procedure in these situations.

A little background on the murder that took place in 1993 started with Marvin Dallas getting upset with his wife on February 5, 1993, when he thought she took his wallet that had $700 inside it. Court documents reveal that the “defendant repeatedly struck her and manhandled her in such a manner that she was thrown up against some object.” It’s believed she was thrown up against a “wagon wheel-shaped footboard of her bed, causing internal injuries that caused her to bleed to death.”

She got treatment, but died from her injuries later. Months down the road, Marvin Dallas pleaded no contest to involuntary manslaughter, but he withdrew the plea and was sentenced to eight to 25 years in prison.

On the day of his sentencing, Marvin Dallas was delayed showing up because he had to stay in county jail the night before for being drunk. After he sobered up, he cried and showed remorse for killing his wife.

It’s unclear if the killer husband’s remains buried next to his wife will be removed, but unless the family agrees, it may not happen
