Duggar Pastor: Scandal Can Be Forgiven, But Josh Duggar’s ’19 Kids And Counting’ Molestation Scandal Still Surprised Ronnie Floyd

According to the Duggar’s pastor, scandal can be forgiven, but Dr. Ronnie Floyd still admits that he was surprised that the Christian family of 19 Kids And Counting was hiding such a dark secret about Josh Duggar.

In a related report by the Inquisitr, could TLC have 19 Kids And Counting cancelled over the scandal? Rumors seem to suggest that some in the production staff believe it is only a matter of time, but business experts believe it’s really a matter of money.

When talking to People magazine, the Duggar pastor spoke up about Josh Duggar’s molestation scandal. Dr. Floyd believes that God can forgive anything, even including incest and the molestation of five underage girls.

“Everyone does wrong, and what was wrong was very wrong as to what was testified to and it’s completely unacceptable,” the Duggar’s pastor said. “But I’m thankful, whether it’s him or any other one, that I serve a God who can forgive everything… Things like [the scandal] have happened before and will happen again.”

Andy Wilson, executive pastor of the Pinnacle Cross Church in Rogers, Arkansas, says Josh’s sister, Jill (Duggar) Dillard, and her husband, Derick, are two of the 2,000 plus members who attend the Southern Baptist church. Since Dr. Donnie Floyd knows the family fairly well, he admits he was surprised when the scandal went public.

“All of us were surprised by the news because… their reputation in Arkansas is that they are a very Christian family,” he said.

But just who is the Duggar’s pastor? Scandal is not the only reason he has made the headlines. Since June of 2014, Dr. Floyd has served as the President of the Southern Baptist Convention and in May he called upon Christians for a spiritual revival.

When speaking at the annual Watchmen on the Wall convention in May, he said the most exciting trend in American churches “is a growing conviction that we cannot fix ourselves.”

“While some would be discouraged with that, I am highly encouraged with that, because what that means [is] we are learning moment by moment that God alone is the answer,” the Duggar pastor said, according to the Baptist Press. “Every crisis we face nationally and globally is real, and never would I minimize it. But our greatest crisis tonight is not political. Our greatest crisis tonight in America is spiritual.”
