Kendrick Lamar And Lady Gaga’s Unreleased ‘Partynauseous’ Track Gets Leaked

After three years, the unreleased track that Kendrick Lamar and Lady Gaga collaborated on in 2012 has been leaked to the internet.

While Kendrick Lamar was preparing to release his 2012 album good kid, m.A.A.d city, he and Lady Gaga began their working relationship.

Lady Gaga excitedly tweeted about the collaboration, and said she had been working on the “Partynauseous” record when it turned into a collaboration with Lamar for his new album.

Gaga said she wrote “Partynauseous” about her relationship with the city of Jakarta and how she wishes she could make peace.

She even said that once she started talking with Kendrick Lamar, “the song became something more.”

When the record didn’t make the tracklist for good kid, m.A.A.d city, Lady Gaga gave her fans an explanation on LittleMonsters.com.

“When I collaborate with an artist I work solely with them, not with their camps or management. Its purely organic and creative. I love Kendrick dearly as a friend, but was not willing to compromise musically to the changes his team was making to my music.”

Kendrick Lamar told MTV News in October, 2012, that the decision was based on business.

“We had to meet these pre-orders. I was frustrated about it. My team was frustrated about it, but at the same time, we had to move forward.”

Lady Gaga reportedly used parts of the song for her ARTPOP tour in 2014, but the full track was never released.

Though Kendrick Lamar cited business reasons, T-Minus, the producer of the track, said that the two artists had different visions for the song.

“From what I understand, it seemed like they [Gaga’s camp] had a direction they wanted to go in and Kendrick and I had a different direction… It just so happened that it didn’t go through. All parties have to agree. I saw it as a great opportunity for Kendrick to get a record from Gaga but if they can’t make that approval then, hey, it can’t go through.”

Kendrick Lamar and Lady Gaga also worked on a version of “B***h Don’t Kill My Vibe,” but it also never found its way onto the album. However, it did make its way to the internet shortly after it was released.

The existence of “Partynauseous” was known to exist and much-discussed, but it was never heard until the leak years later.

The track was not released by Kendrick Lamar, nor Lady Gaga, and first appeared on SoundCloud.
