Joe Giudice Spinoff Cancelled?

Joe Giudice and his daughters were reportedly planning to star in a reality series, which would chronicle their lives without wife and mother Teresa. However, according to a Radar Online report, the show has been cancelled before production even began.

On May 18, a source revealed the following:

“Bravo killed the show because [Joe Giudice] wanted too much money. He won’t be getting a spinoff after all. A show with [Joe Giudice] taking the girls to school just wasn’t worth it.”

The source also claimed Joe Giudice’s wife’s lawyer wouldn’t allow her prison phone calls with Joe Giudice and their children to be filmed for the series.

“Teresa’s lawyer didn’t want to anger prison officials and jeopardize her December release.”

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Joe Giudice’s wife is expected to return to The Real Housewives of New Jersey for the series’ upcoming seventh season. Although it was previously believed that the show would go on without her, because of her 15-month prison term, it has since been revealed, via All Things Real Housewives, that Bravo producers will wait until she is released before beginning production on season seven.

“They are waiting for Teresa to get out to film. The other ladies have not signed on yet.”

The site also revealed that while sources previously alleged Jacqueline Laurita would return to her full-time role on the show for season seven, Joe Giudice’s wife’s refusal to film with her could put her future with Bravo in jeopardy.

“Teresa is refusing to film with Jacqueline. So her return is no longer guaranteed. Bravo has given a lot of power to Teresa.”

Laurita was fired from The Real Housewives of New Jersey after the show’s fifth season, but once producers saw a ratings decline without her, they brought her back in a guest role. Once she returned, ratings increased, thus leading many to believe her role on the show was a sure-thing.

“Production has made it very clear that they want Jacqueline back… And they don’t want her back just for cameos, either. Production is planning to offer Jacqueline as a contract for a full-time housewife.”

“It was very clear with an examination of the ratings that Jacqueline’s appearance had a huge impact on the show.”

Joe Giudice is due to begin his sentence at the end of the year, following Teresa’s December 23 release. No word yet on a start date on production for The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
