Sophie Turner’s Favorite ‘Game Of Thrones’ Scene Aired Last Night [Spoilers]

Sophie Turner said that one of her favorite scenes in Game of Thrones was coming up in season five. It involved something horrifying, and many fans quickly wondered whether she was going to kill her cousin Robin or even Littlefinger. When the season started, fans quickly jumped onto the idea that Ramsey Bolton would attack her, just like he does all his conquests.

It turned out that the latter was right. Game of Thrones aired her favorite scene last night, just after the wedding. It was not easy viewing, and will lead to many fans of the show feeling sorry for her; whether they are Sansa Stark fans or not. There is just something very wrong about a man attacking a teenager, while a childhood friend and almost brother watches.

There are mixed reviews from the fans about the scene. While some enjoy seeing the deviation from the book, others cannot see how it is justified. USA Today shared that the only good thing that may come from it is that Theon ends up on the road to redemption, and Sansa does manage to eventually get her revenge.

That said, it was good acting from Sophie, who has had to go from a meek and mild girl to a strong woman. It was just a shame that it did not have the same shock factor as the Red Wedding back in season three of Game of Thrones. Even book fans had not expected everything that happened in the scene, such as the death of Robb Stark’s wife and unborn baby. Sansa’s storyline cannot have that shock factor when fans already knew just how sadistic and terrifying Ramsey has been in the past.

Forbes hints that surprising and shocking scenes could come, but it will depend on how close the showrunners stick to the books. They have already deviated with Sansa’s storyline, and more deviations are expected to come. After all, the show is going to surpass the books, and the writers need to do something to wrap up the storylines, especially if Game of Thrones is going to finish with season seven.

Sometimes the deviations have been necessary to focus on specific characters. With Sophie’s character, that has been the case. The showrunners wanted to focus more on her, and bringing her home to Winterfell and marry Ramsey made that possible. It also pushed her acting skills on Game of Thrones, leading to one of her favorite scenes.
