Wisconsin Dells: Epic Family Friendly Vacation Destination

Whether you are looking for an action-packed summer vacation or time for relaxation, the Wisconsin Dells, “Waterpark Capital of the World,” has it all. Perfect for couples and families alike, the Wisconsin Dells offers unique tourist attractions, many of which highlight the beautiful nature of the area.

My favorite of all the many varieties of activities in the Wisconsin Dells is the Army Duck tour. Originally, the Dells Army Ducks, which travel on land as well as float on the water, were created for use during World War II. The newest one was built in 1945. Instead of allowing them to fall into disrepair after they were no longer needed for the military, the ducks now transport excited tourists on a unique tour that encompasses the land and water. The thrill of driving right off the road into the river is unlike any other.

The Wisconsin Dells offers a plethora of different tour opportunities, including Princess Kay Paddlewheel Riverboat, Scenic River Walk, Wildthing Jet Boats, railway museums, Chimney Rock Zipline Tours, and so many more.

If touring is not your preferred vacation activity, don’t despair — you might want to try the waterparks. Noah’s Ark, “America’s Largest Waterpark,” includes 80 fun activities for great family fun. This location boasts the most water slides in the Wisconsin Dells. Two wave pools, relaxing rivers, 4D Dive-in theater, and Tadpole Bay Kiddie Play Areaare are just a few of the many areas to explore at Noah’s Ark. Recently added attractions include a four lane mat racing ride, as well as an area where you can actually surf on a boogie board.

If the love of animals is on your agenda, Wisconsin Dells can accommodate that as well. Enjoy horseback riding at several stables, Wildlife Park, International Crane Foundation, and Wisconsin Deer Park will fulfill your desire to interact with animals. At the Wisconsin Deer Park, beautiful deer will come right up and eat food from your hand. Friendly as a puppy dog, the deer may follow you until you give them a snack.

Boys will be happy to hear that go kart riding is a huge pastime for Dells visitors, and moms will appreciate the relaxation offered by area spas. The Wisconsin Dells attractions are so many we could never mention them all here at once, just as you could never visit them all in one Dells vacation.
