World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Beta Coming Soon

A rumor was recently going around that Blizzard is gearing up to launch the World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria beta, and it looks like the rumors were true.

Blizzard announced today on the official World of Warcraft website that the Mists of Pandaria beta is “very close”. It’s so close, in fact, that waves of invites are already starting to go out, and the Mists of Pandaria beta client is now open to download in some regions.

If you opted to pick up an Annual Pass in the hopes of getting into the Mists of Pandaria beta (and to get a free copy of Diablo III), don’t expect to get in as soon as the beta is made available. According to the Mists of Pandaria beta FAQ, invites to Annual Pass holders well be sent out in waves.

“We’re inviting Annual Pass holders in waves over the course of the beta test, and will be ramping up the number of invites we send as quickly as possible,” Blizzard explains in the FAQ. “We’ll be inviting Annual Pass holders based on several factors, including how long your World of Warcraft account has been active and when you signed up for the Annual Pass. Keep an eye on your Battle.net account and email for your invite to join the beta test.”
