ISIS Hotel: Luxury Jihadi Digs Now Available In Downtown Mosul, But TripAdvisor Issues Caution

Wanna get away?

As summer approaches and travel itineraries take shape, if vacationing in Iraq, why not consider the beautiful ISIS Hotel? Freshly renovated and ready for relaxing good times, the ISIS Hotel awaits you in downtown Mosul.

Judging by pictures circulated via popular ISIS social media hubs, here you will find an ISIS hotel like no other, easily identifiable with black ISIS flags blowing in the desert breeze out front, and gardeners keeping the grounds exquisite.

Perhaps not the best venue for a Christian convention or revival, but the ISIS Hotel is open for jihadi business.
ISIS gardeners
They may not be allowed to whistle while they work but these ISIS gardeners are keeping the ISIS Hotel’s grounds and gardens looking fresh.

And Voila! The hard work of the ISIS gardeners is well on display at the ISIS Hotel in Mosul.

Believed to be formerly known as the Ninawa International Hotel, ISIS has taken over management and seems to be carrying on with the Ninawa’s world class luxurious amenities during transition into becoming an ISIS Hotel.

With sweeping gardens and a refreshing pool area, the ISIS hotel has it all. Whether or not women and girls are allowed at the pool has yet to be announced, but if so they should probably be advised to cover up, or possibly risk having to deal with the ISIS Hotel security.

The ISIS Hotel pool looks inviting, but female visitors might want to be cautious and make sure to follow ISIS poolside protocol.

Those issues aside, however, ISIS has gone to great lengths to promote their Mosul hotel, circulating the photos via social media to show off the insides and grounds of their new jihadi getaway, reports the Independent. The photos also showcase a grand-opening of the ISIS Hotel, with jihadi parties carrying on and even fireworks lighting up the Mosul sky.

There are some theories as to why ISIS distributed the photos of their Mosul jihadi-terrorist-friendly hotel so prominently.

One of those theories was presented by Charlie Winter, a researcher for counter-extremism think tank, Quilliam, reports the Economic Times.

Winter believes that ISIS likely sent out the photos in an effort to show that the U.S.-led bombing campaigns in Iraq and Syria haven’t done much if ISIS is able to openly run a lavish 5-Star hotel with jihadis and ISIS militants fearlessly enjoying themselves throughout the grounds.

“I think the message the (ISIS) propagandists are trying to portray is that if the coalition is really causing damage then ISIS wouldn’t be able to host gala dinners with fireworks at a luxury hotel.”

While there are no current reviews of the ISIS Hotel, which TripAdvisor refers to as the Waritheen, previous TripAdvisor reviews from when the ISIS Hotel was called the Ninawa are spectacular. One previous guest beams, “This is the best hotel in iraq it has a very large garden and a perferct resturant and a very good staff and also not expansive. [sic]”

TripAdvisor does tag the ISIS Hotel with a “Travel Alert,” however, that prospective visitors should be aware of, saying the ISIS Hotel has “Safety and Security” concerns.

Questions being asked of the new ISIS Hotel’s management through TripAdvisor include, “Hi – I would like to know: What are the Happy hours for drinks at your hotel?”

Though no answers are yet forthcoming, ISIS Hotel management may provide more information as they settle into their new role.

The ISIS Hotel boasts 262 rooms, two restaurants, two “ballrooms,” a gym, and several other facilities.
