Borderlands 2 PC Features Detailed
Hardcore PC gamers were left a bit disappointed with the lack of PC-specific features in the original Borderlands, with the chief offender being the clearly console-oriented user interface.
Gearbox took note of the complaints, and announced today that Borderlands 2 will have a host of improvements for the PC version, including v-sync support and, perhaps most important and all, a user interface that will feature “100% mouse usable menus/mouse wheel scrolling.”
Other Borderlands 2 PC features include a field of view slider, remappable mouse/keyboard bindings, native multiplayer support (no more GameSpy, in other words), push-to-talk voice chat support, local LAN support and even more still.
If you want more information, here’s a list of all of the confirmed Borderlands 2 PC features:
- FOV slider
- 100 percent mouse usable menus/mouse wheel scrolling
- Remappable keybindings for keyboard and mouse
- PC-specific UI
- Native multiplayer matchmaking
- Push to talk
- Logitech keyboard support
- LAN support (including offline mode)
- Control pad support
- Integrated v-sync option
- Support for higher resolutions
- Mouse smoothing options (can be disabled completely)

As you may have picked up on from the mention of “Cloud save support”, Gearbox announced awhile back that Borderlands 2 will have Steamworks integration, and it sounds like multiplayer will be handled directly through Steam.
Borderlands 2 is due out on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on September 18, 2012.
