McDonald’s Customer Bites Into Worm In McChicken Sandwich

Imagine biting into a McChicken sandwich at McDonald’s only to find a worm, or more than one. That is exactly what happened to Joyce Fedd at a McDonald’s near Jacksonville, Florida. She tasted something strange and pulled it out of her mouth to see the worm, the Mirror reported today.

“Shocked Joyce Fedd says the unwanted ingredient was one of two worms she found inside her McChicken sandwich, the Mirror reported, “She says she ordered two McChicken sandwiches — one for each of her two children — at the drive-thru of her local McDonald’s branch in Jacksonville, Florida.”

McDonald’s offered and gave Fedd a refund of 3 dollars and change, the cost of the two McChicken sandwiches, after she found two worms in one of them. This wasn’t sufficient redress for Ms. Fedd, who intends to contact an attorney about a possible lawsuit against McDonalds.

Jim Van Laere, who owns the McDonald’s franchise, told Action News Jacksonville as follows.

“Food safety is a top priority and we take incidents such as this very seriously, as it is highly unusual. We quickly reviewed our entire kitchen to ensure this type of occurrence could not happen.”

The meat in the chicken sandwiches came from a processing facility, not that particular location of McDonalds. Fedd was unsatisfied with how they handled the situation and the offer of only the cost of the two sandwiches to resolve the problem.

“Action News reporter Alyana Gomez was at the McDonald’s covering a triple shooting that happened the night before when Fedd approached her and showed her the worm in the sandwich,” Action News Jacksonville reported.

This was not the first time a worm was found in a McDonald’s chicken product, even recently. Just a few days ago, and the Inquisitr reported, a worm was found in a chicken McNugget at a McDonalds restaurant in Tamworth, England.

“Nikki Sanders, 30, claims that there was what appeared to be a worm in her Chicken McNugget. The discovery came after Sanders purchased a Happy Meal at the Tamworth, England, McDonalds on Sunday for her 4-year-old daughter, reports the the Huffington Post.”

These are two recent stories of worms in chicken products served in two different continents at McDonalds, and they were likely processed in different manufacturing plants. There have been numerous past reports of contamination of McDonald’s products with insects such as worms, flies, maggots, etc. Will your next meal at McDonalds include any unexpected and added ingredients?
