Mariah: Break Up Track ‘Infinity’ Has Mariah Carey Dissing Nick Cannon

A Mariah break up track has caught the attention of the internet this week. According to Entertainment Online, Mariah Carey sings some interesting lyrics in the song “Infinity,” which many believe is about her ex-husband, Nick Cannon. Of course fans were wondering which entertainer would take a shot first, and now it appears as though Mimi drew first blood.

“Why you mad?/Talking about you’re mad?/ Could it be that you just lost the best you ever had?… Name hold weight like kilos/ Boy you actin’ so corny like Fritos/ Wouldn’t have none of that without me, though,” Mariah sings in the first verse. It certainly sounds like she’s singing about someone in particular, don’t you agree?

Mariah Carey’s break up track has become pretty popular. According to AOL News, Carey, 45, released the song on Sunday, just a few months after she and Nick filed for divorce. Despite wanting to listen to the lyrics because they might be some sort of message to her ex, MC fans are actually really liking the tune, which is fairly catchy.

When previously asked about the song and its lyrics, Carey said that she wanted to leave the door open for interpretation.

“I leave that open for the fans to interpret. People have to be able to interpret it for their own selves. Personally, this song is about loving yourself. You have to love yourself first… If you don’t love yourself, and you’re not in a good place with you, than how can you love or do anything else to the fullest?” Carey explained during an interview with ET’s Kevin Frazier.

The Mariah Carey break up track isn’t the first of its kind, and certainly won’t be the last. Music artists often draw on personal experiences for inspiration and for song lyrics, so a track like this was pretty much expected from Mimi. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Mariah and Nick split after seven years of marriage. For the most part, the two have remained civil and have not spoken badly about one another in public. However, it looks like that may have changed with this one song.

“Close the door / Lose the key / Leave my heart on the mat for me / I was yours eternally / There’s an end to infinity.”

Are you surprised that it was Mariah who released the break up track and not Nick Cannon? Do you think he will respond with a track of his own?
