Bobbi Kristina Brown: Bobby Brown Files To Control Bobbi Kristina’s $20 Million Estate As Cissy Houston Protests

Bobbi Kristina Brown remains in a long-term care facility out of her coma, but with a long road to recovery ahead of her, as her father Bobby Brown files for guardianship of her estate. While relatives such as Cissy Houston are involved in Whitney Houston’s wishes for Bobbi Kristina’s $20 million trust, Bobby remains in his role of making medical decisions for the 22-year-old, reported People.

In addition to Cissy, Bobbi Kristina’s aunt and uncle Pat Houston and Gary Houston are in charge of the trust. As to why Bobby filed to change that situation?

“Bobby is Krissy’s father. He only wants what’s best for her,” emphasized a source.

But Brown is aware that Bobbi Kristina is in a situation requiring extensive medical treatment for a long time, and that’s expensive, pointed out the insider.

“This is not about him taking her money – he has money of his own. This is about making sure that she will have the best care for as long as she needs … The truth is that he wants to get her the best care she can possibly get, that’s all.”

Cissy offered her own views via a lawyer on whether the 46-year-old singer should be given guardianship of her granddaughter’s estate.

“This is a family matter involving sensitive information. We hope to resolve this in a manner that is respectful of Bobbi Kristina’s sensitive health information. The Houston family has always looked out for the best interest of Bobbi Kristina Brown. The family has done so all of her life and will continue to do so. We trust that others have the same objective.”

But what is the truth about Bobbi Kristina’s health? Bobby Brown, Cissy, and other family members have offered conflicting reports, according to the Christian Post.

While Bobby first described his daughter as “awake” and watching him, his lawyer Christopher Brown subsequently clarified those statements.

“Bobbi Kristina’s condition has changed since moving from Emory University Hospital and there has been improvement,” said attorney Christopher Brown.

And the lawyer emphasized that long-term therapy and care will be needed, with the final outcome of her condition not yet known.

“Doctors have indicated that she will have a long life. However, Bobbi Kristina is presently embarking on a rehabilitation process and the quality of her life will not be known for years to come.”

But Cissy described Bobbi Kristina’s hope for complete recovery as requiring a medical miracle.

“According to the doctors she has global and irreversible brain damage and remains unresponsive,” said Cissy bluntly.

Bobby’s wife Alicia Etheredge Brown also spoke out to clarify her husband’s statements about his 22-year-old daughter with Whitney Houston.

“She has made it out of the ICU, opened her eyes, and started a rehabilitation treatment that will be long and hard. We will hold on to the blessings God gives us to help her at this time and we look forward to her having a relationship with her unborn sister as our family grows in love and faith.”

When Bobbi Kristina was found unconscious on January 31, she was in the home that she shared with long-time boyfriend Nick Gordon, as the Inquisitr reported.

As Gordon took to Twitter to express increasingly suicidal thoughts and confessions of abusing alcohol and drugs, Dr. Phil MacGraw conducted a televised intervention that sent Nick off to rehab. Since then, he’s reportedly remained sober.

“Nick is responding well to rehab treatment with no relapses,” said a source.
