Jessica Simpson: I’m Not Having Twins

Jessica Simpson’s big baby bump has caused some people to speculate that the star would be having twins, but last night on “The Tonight Show” Simpson put the rumors to rest.

Simpson said:

“I’m not having twins. I know it looks like it but it’s not twins… Labor is really going to hurt… I have so much respect for my mom and all the women across the world.”

Simpson, who will serve as NBC’s new fashion mentor on the show, “Fashion Star,” also stopped by “The Ellen Show” to talk about her pregnancy. Simpson said she was still a few weeks away from her due date but that she was already having contractions.

Simpson said:

“I had contractions last night and I freaked out a little bit. You know those Braxton Hicks things… It’s like these contractions that pregnant woman have towards the end. It prepares your body for delivery. I’m prepared. It’s scary. It’s like oh god, this can happen right now.”

Simpson’s pregnancy doesn’t seem to be slowing the star down at all. She has a new show, “Fashion Star,” which premiers tonight on NBC. And last week she posed nude on the cover of “Elle.”

CBS News reports that the show will be hosted by former supermodel Elle Macpherson. Jessica Simpson, Nicole Richie and designer John Varvatos will sit on the judges’ panel. “Fashion Star” will be unique because it will give the contestants a chance to get their clothes into stores like Macy’s, H&M, and Saks Fifth Avenue every week. If one of the retailers thinks that an item can sell, the clothes will be put in stores the day the episode airs.
