‘Cleveland Abduction’ Coming To Lifetime: Dr. Phil Interviews Cast Along With Michelle Knight

Cleveland Abduction is a movie coming to Lifetime television on Saturday, May 2. It is an original movie based on Ariel Castro’s abductions of Michelle Knight, Amanda Berry, and Gina DeJesus. Castro kept the trio for more than 10 years until they were able to escape on May 6, 2013.

To let viewers know what to expect from seeing Cleveland Abduction, Dr. Phil McGraw interviewed two people who played the leading parts.

Michelle Knight was also a guest on the Dr. Phil show. Even though all three women were kidnapped and endured years with Castro, the primary focus of Cleveland Abduction is on Michelle and what happened to her. The movie is based on Michelle’s book Finding Me that was published on May 6, 2014. That was exactly one year after the women escaped.

Michelle indicated that she wanted Amanda and Gina to tell their own stories. Notice the title of the movie is Cleveland Abduction instead of Cleveland Abductions.

Cleveland Entertainment releases a trailer for Cleveland Abduction starring Taryn Manning as Michelle Knight, who was abducted on August 22, 2002. Because Michelle was in the house first, she became a friend and sister figure to the younger victims. Michelle is now estranged from the other two.

Lifetime reveals some disturbing Cleveland Abduction footage ahead of its premiere. Michelle Knight has said she doesn’t plan to watch Cleveland Abduction when it airs. She didn’t watch some of the scenes that were shown on the Dr. Phil show.

My Lifetime describes Cleveland Abduction as the true story of Michelle Knight, a 21-year-old single mother whose life was changed by a chance encounter with an unsuspected criminal.

Knight was abducted by Castro in Cleveland and held captive in his house for more than 11 years. Soon thereafter, he abducted two teenagers, Amanda Berry and Gina DeJesus. They were imprisoned alongside Michelle, who then became a friend and sister figure to her fellow victims.

Michelle acted as a midwife for Berry when she delivered two of Castro’s children. She also performed CPR on one of the infant girls after Castro told her, “If the baby dies, you die.”

Since her escape, Michelle is reclaiming her life after more than a decade of enduring brutality. She wouldn’t let her spirit be broken while in the house, and she is not letting her spirit be broken now as she moves forward.

Cleveland Abduction stars Raymond Cruz as kidnapper Ariel Castro and Taryn Manning as Michelle Knight. Samantha Droke plays the role of Amanda Berry, and Katie Sarife is played by Gina DeJesus.

Even though you know the outcome of the story, are you going to watch Cleveland Abduction?
