NY Councilman Calls GCB An “Attack on Christianity” Then Demands Boycott

New York City Councilman Peter Vallone thinks the new ABC show GCB is an attack on the Christian Faith and he wants the show to find itself the victim of an immediate boycott.

Vallone came out publicly on Tuesday to ask that ABC pull the show immediately and then demanded that “people of all faiths” boycott the show for it’s attack on religion.

Speaking to TMZ Vallone notes:

“The title of the show alone is yet another outrageous attack on the Christian faith. Charlie Sheen will be back on ‘Two and a Half Men’ before we see a similar title targeting another religion.”

The show was originally set to be called Good Christian Bitches but ABC eventually changed the name to Good Christian Belles because of numerous attacks during early testing.

After ABC changed the name Vallone says it didn’t fool him or anyone else

“No one is fooled by that ridiculous claim. The original intent is clear, and changing the title of a show in your head doesn’t count.”

ABC isn’t commenting on the call to pull the show but networks are typically not phased by such requests unless advertisers and viewers stop watching the show. In this case it could be the show’s premiere which pulled in just 7.6 million total viewers for it’s premiere.

Are you offended by ABC’s “attack on the Christian faith” or has the network done a good job by changing the shows name before it even started to air?
