‘Beauty And The Beast’ Cast Takes Selfie, Celebrates Birthdays

The Beauty and the Beast cast is getting ready to start filming the live-action Disney production and on Tuesday, they took a selfie and posted it to Instagram. They are also celebrating a few birthdays on Wednesday, so it should be one big party.

The cast selfie was reportedly taken on set as the Beauty and the Beast stars met in person for the first time. The photo was shared to Instagram by Josh Gad (Le Fou) and is captioned “Can’t wait for you to be our guest,” in reference to one of the most popular tunes in the original movie, “Be Our Guest.”

Gad’s pic includes Dan Stevens (Beast), Emma Watson (Belle), Luke Evans (Gaston), and Kevin Kline (Maurice). Newly announced Beauty and the Beast cast member Ian McKellen (Cogsworth) and Emma Thompson (Mrs. Potts) were not photographed. However, Emma Wastson sent out a sweet tweet to welcome the veteran British actor.

There are not too many details about the Beauty and the Beast live action movie, aside from the cast and the roles they will be portraying. It is implied that the film will take the form of a musical, after Emma Watson shared the exciting news with fans on her Facebook page, on January 26.

“I’m finally able to tell you…that I will be playing Belle in Disney’s new live-action Beauty and the Beast! It was such a big part of my growing up, it almost feels surreal that I’ll get to dance to ‘Be Our Guest’ and sing ‘Something There’. My six year old self is on the ceiling – heart bursting. Time to start some singing lessons. I can’t wait for you to see it. Emma xx”

In addition to finally meeting each other in person to start the production, the Beauty and the Beast cast is celebrating a few birthdays on Wednesday. Luke Evans (36), Emma Watson (25), and Emma Thompson (56) all share the April 15 birth date and so it should be one big party on set.

As far as the singing is concerned, the only one who has vast experience in the field is Luke Evans, as he began his career in musical theater. However, we will have to wait and see about the rest of the Beauty and the Beast cast. The Disney production is set to premiere on March 17, 2017.
