Street Fighter X Tekken: Extra PS Vita Characters Coming to Consoles (Eventually)

Back in February, Capcom said that the PlayStation Vita version of Street Fighter X Tekken would be releasing a few months later than its console counterparts. Street Fighter X Tekken hits consoles on March 6, but a Vita release isn’t due until the fall.

The bad news was counteracted with some good news, however, with Capcom saying that the PlayStation Vita would get a whopping 12 extra characters not seen in the console version. If the news had you console players jealous, you’ll undoubtedly be glad to know that Capcom’s Seth Killian confirmed at the game’s launch party last night that all 12 of the characters will be making their way to consoles–eventually.

Unfortunately, Killian didn’t say exactly when the extra Street Fighter X Tekken characters will see a release on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, but he did say that Capcom will “find a way to make sure that console fans are happy, as well.”

If Street Fighter X Tekken producer Yoshinori Ono’s comments from November of last year are to be believed, the characters would have to be released in the form of DLC, and not a disc-based “Super” update–Ono said at the time that Capcom had no plans to do that with Street Fighter X Tekken.

The extra PlayStation Vita Street Fighter X Tekken characters question include Elena, Guy, Cody, Sakura, Dudley and Blanka on the Street Fighter side, while the Tekken roster is joined by additional characters Alisa, Christie, Jack, Brian, Lars and Lei.
