Jill Duggar Update: Baby Dilly Has Arrived
Baby Dilly is here! Jill Duggar of TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting and her husband Derick Dillard welcomed their baby boy on Monday night.
Israel David was born at 11:59 p.m. and weighed in at 9 lbs., 10 oz., according to People Magazine.
Israel definitely came at his own time, approximately two weeks after his due date. Jill had previously set two dates for her son to be born. The first on March 24 and then again on Easter Sunday, April 5.
“I have told myself, ‘First-time moms often go a week and a half over, so don’t get discouraged,'” she told the magazine prior to her first due date. “When everyone else is asking you, ‘When are you going to have that baby?’ The baby will come when the baby comes.”
According to the Duggar family, momma and baby are doing very well.
“We are so thankful for a healthy Mom and baby! Love this sweet baby Israel!” they wrote on their Facebook page “Duggar Family Official. “We are happy grandparents and we promise more pictures soon!”
On Saturday, Derick took the opportunity to share an update on his wife. He posted a photo of Jill with her very prominent baby bump holding a sign that read “41 weeks 4 days.” “Still waiting to meet our little guy,” Derick captioned the photo. He later took the time to reflect on becoming a father on his personal blog.
“I can’t even describe right now the anticipation I am feeling, as I am about to get to meet my firstborn son for the first time face to face,” he said. “So many people have already testified that nothing can quite describe that moment and that I’ll just have to experience it for myself.”

Derick and Jill first met through Jill’s father Jim Bob in 2013. They spent months talking through Skype before Jill and Jim Bob flew to Nepal for the couple to meet. They started courting in November 2013.
“The answer to my prayer came in August 2013, just before I left Nepal for a two week trip to Japan,” Derick wrote on his website. “During a conversation with Jim Bob, he mentioned how he thought Jill and I might get along well, having similar personalities and direction in life. He gave me Jill’s phone number and we began texting, then emailing, then skyping/ talking on the phone. Over the next few months we became very grateful for modern technology as we continued to get to know each other better. Most of our conversations were centered around our values and life goals.”
“At the end of November, Jill and her dad got to come to Nepal for a couple weeks. I had no idea what to expect, but I was excited and prayed that God would give clear direction during this time. By the end of the trip I felt the Lord directing me to ask Jill to officially begin a courtship relationship. She agreed and we continued getting to know one another.”
In April 2014, Derick popped the question and the couple was married later that summer. Now, a little more than nine months later, the couple has started a family of their own.
