Patricia Arquette Set To Write Book About Her ‘Unconventional Family’

So far, 2015 appears to be Patricia Arquette’s year. The Oscar winner has announced this week that she is penning her memoir. After making waves with her acceptance speech at this year’s awards show, Arquette is ready to make some more waves to write about her “unconventional family,” according to USA Today.

The publisher, Random House, announced that Arquette will also share her experiences being a single mother at only 20-years-old and also “her experience as a woman in Hollywood.”

The Boyhood actress released her own statement, as seen on Time.

Arquette stated, “Over the years, the public has come to know aspects of me through my roles in film and television. Writing a memoir will be a new and intimate artistic journey for me, and I hope to bring to it the same honesty I have always sought to bring to my work as an actor.”

Arquette, 45, is known for her honesty. It was her Oscar acceptance speech, where she called for wage equality for women, that made stars like Meryl Streep and Jennifer Lopez to cheer openly. This is a cause that she continues to promote.

“To every woman who gave birth, to every taxpayer and citizen of this nation, we have fought for everybody else’s equal rights… It’s high time to have wage equality once and for all and equal rights for women in the United States of America.”

Random House publisher, Susan Kamil, commented on Arquette’s honesty and authenticity as seen in her work thus far.

“Patricia Arquette is a remarkable woman and the instant empathy audiences feel when they see her work on screen is completely evident on the page. The material I read is revelatory and deeply moving. Not a surprise from an actress of such nuance and intelligence.”

Neither a title nor a release date has been released for Arquette’s memoir.

While not working on her memoir, Patricia Arquette is starring on CBS’s latest in the CSI franchise, CSI: Cyber, on Wednesdays where she stars as Special Agent Avery Ryan, a cyber-psychologist for the FBI.
