Noel Gallagher Talks About Financial Loss And Kendrick Lamar

With his tour now in full swing, Noel Gallagher seems to be enjoying life at the moment. However, the 47-year-old singer-songwriter admits that he took a massive hit financially after leaving Oasis to pursue his solo career in 2009.

After leaving Oasis amidst huge fight between his brother, Noel Gallagher started up his own record label.

“Everything I’ve done since I left Oasis has come from my own pocket. You’ve got to pay for the tour, got to pay for the wages and you don’t really break even for about nine months.”

According to Gallagher, the financial loss was so bad that the often brass Mancunian was afraid of telling his wife how much he had actually lost.

“I don’t mean I lost money. I mean I lost a f***ing s**t load of money. It was a few million, like. I had to lie to Sara at first, and when I eventually did tell her, she freaked out — I mean freaked out.”

With his second album out, the fastest selling album on the British charts this year, Noel Gallagher outlook on life is far rosier and comfortable nowadays.

“I don’t worry about the music getting to number one or anything. I never have done really. Well, maybe I did between 1994 and ’97, back when I wanted to rule the world. People aren’t buying as many records as they were four years ago so sales are likely to decline, but it won’t make it any less a record.”

Gallagher, a massive Seinfeld fan, was shocked to learn that the name Kendrick Lamar was not at all a fictional one.

When asked about the American rapper, Gallagher asked, “Did you say Kendrick Lamar? I’ve never heard that name in my life. That sounds like a character off of ‘Seinfeld.’ I have no idea who you’re talking about. Kendrick Lamar, is that a real name?”

Gallagher has also threatened to divorce his wife should she resume watching the popular Netflix series House of Cards without him.

“I watch ‘House of Cards.’ Don’t tell me what happens in the new season; I have to leave it halfway through to come on tour, and my wife is under strict orders not to watch any of it or she gets a f****ng divorce. No trial separation, no going to sleep back at her mum’s. Divorce.”
