‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Alison Sweeney Returning As Sami Brady
Days of Our Lives fans are in for a big treat. Alison Sweeney, who played fan favorite character Sami Brady, is returning to Salem to help the long-running NBC soap celebrate it’s big 50th anniversary. The actress will join other fan favorite characters who will be popping up in the fictional town over the course of the year.
According to TV Guide reporter Michael Logan, Alison Sweeney has been confirmed to return to Days of Our Lives this year. Logan talked with Ken Corday, the soap’s producer, and son of the show’s co-creators, who revealed that Sami Brady and others would be returning to Salem. Michael shared the news via Twitter and fans went wild.

As many fans know, Alison Sweeney left the soap at the end of 2014 when her character, Sami Brady, decided to pack up her children and move to Hollywood to work on a movie about her life. The decision to leave Salem came after Sami’s longtime love and husband, EJ DiMera, played by actor James Scott, was shot and killed.
Since her departure, fans have been hoping that Sami would come home to Salem for a visit, or to stay. While Alison Sweeney has been busy with other projects such as her hosting duty at The Biggest Loser, fans have never lost hope that Sami would return.
Gold Derby reports that the news of Alison’s return to Days of Our Lives comes after Daytime Emmy predictions reveal she’s the front runner to take home the Best Actress Emmy for her work on the soap, playing first a furious, mistreated, cheated-on wife, and then grieving widow and mother during her final days as Sami.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, it’s been confirmed that former characters Bo Brady and Steve “Patch” Johnson will also return to Salem to help celebrate the big 50th anniversary. Actors Peter Reckell and Stephen Nichols will be seen later this year and likely bring a lot of drama with them as they’ll be forced to confront their ex-wives Hope Brady and Kayla Johnson about their absences.
It should make for some great episodes, and hopefully even better ratings to have all these former great characters return to Salem to celebrate something so huge.
