CW’s ‘The Flash’: The Rogues Are Coming, But Will They Be The Season Finale Or Will The Reverse?

CW’s The Flash, the newer comic book adaptation, has had a lot going on. It’s had crossovers with its bigger brother CW comic book adaptation, Arrow, and as the Inquisitr reported, has some ties with the new CW spin-off that is still forthcoming.

If for any reason you plan to watch this show, have not made it too far into the season, or you never plan on watching The Flash at all, but hate spoilers, this is your warning. Spoiler alert! There are potential spoilers beyond this point.

According to Tech Times, the Rogues are coming. As of Tuesday’s episode, one more rogue was added to the mix. For a little reference, the rogues in the Flash comics consisted of Captain Cold, Mirror Master, Heat Wave, Weather Wizard, the Trickster, Pied Piper, the Top, and Captain Boomerang. Thus far, we have seen all but three of the rogues, but one more is showing up in the next episode.

Some have suggested the season finale will be the a Flash vs. The Rogues script, which is not completely beyond the realm of possibility, as there are four episodes in the season that carry the “rogue” title, not to mention the fact that many of the rogues have been introduced, and one more episode carries this title, which is the second to last episode, “Rogue Air.”

One of the Flash’s producer/writers, Andrew Kreisberg, lends his voice to this subject, but stops short of answering the question.

“We’re going to do something with all the Rogues. I can’t promise it’s going to be this season. We know that if the original 1990s Flash series had gotten a second season, both John [Wesley Shipp] and Mark [Hamill] have told us that the first episode was going to be a giant Rogues episode. And that sounds like maybe a good thing for us to do, what they didn’t get the opportunity to do.”

So, the Rogues are coming. The Rogues are coming — but when? Season 2 was hinted at, and most of the current TV time line would suggest that.

However, a truce was made at the end of this past “Rogue Time” titled episode. Meanwhile, the Reverse-Flash continues to cover his tracks, but Barry’s recent bout with time travel tips him off to Dr. Wells not being who he thought he was. So, both Reverse-Flash vs. The Flash, and The Flash vs. The Rogues seem to be very probable at this point, neither of which are clearly the finalists for the finale face-off.

There is also the villain, Deathbolt, to contend with in “Rogue Air,” according to Segment Next, and The Atom is set to appear in Episode 18, “All-Star Team Up.” Some of these things could very easily be distractions from the exact nature of the finale. Either way, suffice it to say, The Flash has a full plate with the Rogues, Reverse-Flash, and even more meta humans coming out of the woodwork. Then, of course, we can’t forget about the little time travel scenario that happened in “Out of Time.”
