Rey Mysterio Reportedly Receiving Death Threats After Passing Of Perro Aguayo Jr.


It’s only been a little over 24 hours since the tragic passing of Perro Aguayo Jr. and the wrestling world is still figuring out the exact details of his death. Rey Mysterio, who was in the match with Aguayo Jr., is reportedly being blamed for the whole incident. For those that haven’t seen the video, here’s the entire sequence of events as they unfolded. It’s clear that Rey Mysterio didn’t purposely botch his 619 manuever.

Like many have said before, Aguayo Jr.’s injury occurred when Mysterio went to hit his head-scissors, or when he dropkicked him onto the middle rope. Either way, Mysterio didn’t work too stiff. In his wrestling history, especially in WWE, he’s never injured anyone. Mysterio isn’t big enough to forcefully injure another wrestler.

New materials have come out in the past few hours regarding Rey Mysterio’s status. There are few in the Internet Wrestling Community who think he should retire, or at least think about the idea. It not being Mysterio’s fault shouldn’t make him ponder retirement. Unfortunately, if it gets bad enough, Mysterio might have to take a leave of absence altogether.

Members of the internet are not letting Mysterio live this situation with Aguayo Jr. down. According to RingsideNews.com, Mysterio is receiving a lot of hate from wrestling fans around the world, and some are much worse than just hate mail.

“Rey Mysterio has reportedly received death threats in Mexico due to the tragic passing of Perro Aguayo Jr. at a CRASH wrestling event in Tijuana on Friday night.

“Due to the in-ring accident, Mysterio was the single most-searched term on the Internet for Saturday.”

There will be wrestling fans who are furious at Mysterio for what happened. That will be the case for the rest of his life. When someone dies in the wrestling industry, the wrestling universe comes together as one in support of a fallen competitor. Perro Aguayo Jr. wasn’t as popular as John Cena, but he certainly gave his all during his run with AAA.

After an assortment of deliberation on the internet yesterday, Aguayo Jr.’s cause of death was finally revealed. He went into cardiac arrest after he endured cervical spine trauma. It was a serious injury that took the life of someone who was beloved by many fans who watched AAA wrestling.

Whether Rey Mysterio believes it or not, there is no evidence to claim that he is guilty of any crime. A lot of the hatred he is receiving is from emotional fans who are upset Aguayo Jr. was taken away from the world too early.
