‘Destiny’: Xur’s Location And Exotic Goods For Weekend Of March 20
A new set of Exotic weapons and armor are on sale in Destiny via Xûr, Agent of the Nine. The mysterious vendor is selling some items that have rarely been sold before, so PlayStation and Xbox owners may want to check out his wares this week to see if they are worth the Strange Coins.
This weekend, Xûr can be found across from the Speaker in the Tower North. Simply head to the left when you first spawn in the Tower, and you’ll find him standing in front of a large, round door across from the speaker’s entrance. Here’s where you can find him on the Tower map just to be sure though.
Xûr and his items will only be available in Destiny through the morning of Sunday, March 22. As soon as the clock strikes 5 a.m. ET / 2 a.m. PT, he will be gone.
The Hard Light is on sale for the first time ever with Xûr, but the recent 1.1.1 patch that nerfed Auto Rifles greatly reduced this weapon’s desirability. The Mask of the Third Man did not get a great stat roll but is sold rarely enough that Bladedancers probably want to go ahead and buy it. The Apotheosis Veil also appeared for the first time in a while and Warlocks will find it of great value for the Crota’s End raid.
For upgrades, the Crest of Alpha Lupi for Titans with a 162 Intellect is worth checking out. That’s the highest offered by Xûr that I can remember and is only eight short of the max for this chest piece.
And, yes, Heavy Weapon Ammo Synthesis packs are available.
Here is what is available for sale and upgrade from Xûr this weekend. Thanks again to DestinyDB for the Exotic information below.

For those wondering what to get, here are a few helpful hints.
Hard Light is in a tough spot currently in Destiny. While the Auto Rifle provides good stability and range, it falls in the middle between the high rate of fire/low impact and low rate of fire/high impact auto rifles in the game. The nerf that Auto Rifles received in a recent patch reduces its effectiveness in PVE, while weapons SUROS Regime and Vanquisher VIII are more preferred in PVP situations.
The primary perks of the Hard Light are the Glass Half Full, which causes additional damage at the bottom half of the magazine, and Volatile Light, which causes bullets to over-penetrate targets and ricochet on hard surfaces.
The Mk. 44 Stand Asides boots are for Titans in the Striker sub-class who love using the Shoulder Charge. The “Be Somewhere Else” perk extends the time that the Shoulder Charge is available by a couple of seconds. It also allows the character to carry more Heavy Weapon ammo. If you’ve ever played a Titan in Crucible, you know that those couple of seconds of extended run time with the Shoulder Charge can be deadly.
The 115 Strength stat roll is so pitifully low that these aren’t probably worth picking up this week. The Stand Asides utility by Titans is already questionable when compared to some of the other Exotic pieces. This bottom of the barrel stat does not do it any favors.
The Mask of the Third Man makes Hunters who roll with the Bladedancer sub-class that much more hated. The Switchblade perk increases melee attack speed while the Unstable Current perk makes Arc Blades attacks use less super energy. That means the Bladedancer Super Ability will last even longer and be even more deadly.
The 100 Intellect stat roll is on the low-side of average. That said, this is the first time this helmet has been available for sale in Destiny since November. It’s probably a good idea to pick these up and upgrade to a better stat when the opportunity arises.
The Apotheosis Veil helmet for Warlocks is a utility helmet that works well with either sub-class. It’s primary benefit in Destiny currently is to help with survivability in the Crota’s End raid. The Infusion Perk will replenish health when you pick up Orbs of Light while the Private Reserves immediately regenerates your health when activating our Super ability. These are useful in some PVE situations as well during hairy encounters in Nightfall strikes and the like.
The 114 Intellect is a good stat roll for the helmet, as the max is in the 130 range.
