Darksiders II gets a release date

Previously, THQ had said that Darksiders II, the sequel to Vigil Games’ 2010 action-adventure title, would be released at some point in June. Now we have a more specific date than that.

THQ announced today that Darksiders II will be making its way to retailers and digital distribution services on June 26 in North America, with a European release following just a few days later on June 29.

Not only did THQ send word of the game’s release date, the publisher also announced that Darksiders II will have retailer-exclusive pre-order incentives from the likes of Best Buy, Amazon, and GameStop. Here’s what you get from all three retailers:

Amazon: ‘Deadly Despair’ Pack – Features an additional speed boost for Death’s horse Despair, that allows players to traverse the world at a much faster rate.

Best Buy: ‘Angel of Death’ Pack – Features enhanced armor with an angel inspired design as well as a pair of matching scythes. In addition players will receive an exclusive purple colored visual trail for their crow.

GameStop: ‘Death Rides’ Pack – Features multiple exclusive side-quests allowing players to explore more of the Maker’s Realm and Dead Plains. In addition players will be able to aid an ancient Construct, battle The Bloodless and retrieve Karn’s lost treasure

Darksiders II will release simultaneously on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
