Rumer Willis Will Be Shaking Her Booty On ‘Dancing With The Stars’

Rumer Willis will debut her dancing skills on the newest season of Dancing with the Stars, and both parents couldn’t be more proud, the actress said in a recent interview.

Although Rumer is best known for being the daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, her Dancing with the Stars stint may bring more focus to her own acting career and lead to hotter prospects for the 26-year-old actress.

“They’re really excited and really supportive. My dad and my mom and my sisters were really excited for me and were asking me about rehearsals and I just told them how excited I was. It’s nice to have their support.”

The Dancing with the Stars audience will be filled with Willis’ family members if Rumer has her way. Ms. Willis has already committed her parents and sisters to attend the show, whether they want to or not, she joked.

Rumer stated that while Demi has always held a strong interest in dancing, Willis’ father lacks similar skills, often just swaying back and forth in time with the music. Luckily, Rumer won’t have to rely on Bruce for her dance moves. Willis will be partnered with Ukrainian professional dancer and long-time Dancing with the Stars participant Val Chmerkovskiy.

Dance partners Chmerkovskiy and Willis will be performing the foxtrot to the Hosier hit, “Take Me to the Church,” when the new season premieres. Suzanne Somers and Patti LaBelle are just a couple of the big names Willis and Val will face when Dancing with the Stars returns on Monday.

While Chmerkovskiy placed third in last season’s competition with his former partner, Pretty Little Liars star Janel Parrish, he may find a more experienced partner in Rumer Willis. Visitors to the DBA Theater in West Hollywood have already seen Rumer’s dance moves on stage with her performances in For the Record: Baz Luhrmann and For the Record: Dear John Hughes, reports the Daily Mail.

The concerts, produced by For the Record, involve live adaptations of famous films and their soundtracks. The series has so far done works from Quentin Tarantino, the Coen Brothers, Martin Scorsese, and Paul Thomas Anderson.

While her appearance on Dancing with the Stars will undoubtedly be good for her career, Rumer also expressed other motivations for participating in the competition. Rumer hopes to find the experience rewarding on a personal level with the added incentive of having fun and making new friends.

“I’ve always wanted to learn how to dance and when someone presents the opportunity to have a professional teach you and not only that, but to get to maybe dance to some of your favorite songs, have your friends and a huge audience and America cheer you on, it’s incredible. It’s something I couldn’t pass up.”

Another noteworthy Dancing with the Stars contestant offering up serious competition against Willis may be The Bachelor’s Chris Soules. Dancing with the Stars premieres on Monday, March 16.
