Bobbi Kristina Brown Update: Neurosurgeon Speaks Out, Nick Gordon Surprises On ‘Dr. Phil’

Bobbi Kristina Brown continues to struggle to heal while in a coma following a near-drowning in a bathtub on January 31 of this year. The incident so closely resembles the events surrounding the death of her mother, Whitney Houston, three years ago that it has left many wondering if Whitney’s death was an accident, after all. Bobby Brown and Cissy Houston, Bobbi Kristina’s father and grandmother, have been by her side consistently throughout her ordeal.

With all the talk of Bobbi Kristina Brown’s boyfriend, Nick Gordon, appearing on Dr. Phil, precious little has been said regarding Bobbi Kristina herself. As the old adage goes, no news is good news, so we have hope that at least her condition has not worsened.

In an interview with Extra, Dr. Sasan Yadegar, Neurosurgical Director with Dignity Health Northridge Hospital and Trauma Center, related his opinion regarding the the prognosis for Bobbi Kristina Brown. Although Dr. Yadegar has not personally treated Bobbi Kristina, his experience in the field of neurosurgery is extensive. Dr. Yadegar encourages the Brown family to hold on to hope, stating that some patients with this type of brain injury can take three to six months to regain consciousness, and her young age gives her a better chance of survival than that of someone older.

“In the best of circumstances, what happens with these patients is that you expect the first thing to return is some respiratory function, the second thing to return is their eyes may open. They may not follow commands but their eyes may open. The third thing is movement of the upper and lower extremities. That is not to commands, but due to some type of stimulus. And then slowly, and God willing, they start following some commands.”

Bobbi Kristina Brown’s boyfriend/pseudo husband, Nick Gordon, appeared on Dr. Phil this week, presumably to tell his side of the story, but was surprised to find that he was actually walking into a drug intervention staged by his mother. Some conflicting information regarding the claims of the drowning incident of Whitney Houston surfaced during the interview with Dr. Phil.

Nick Gordon has claimed all along that he tried to save Bobbi Kristina Brown with CPR when he found her in the bathtub, unresponsive. However, Gordon’s mother told Dr. Phil that her son attempted to perform CPR on Whitney Houston the night she died, which is new information.

“When Whitney was found, he administered CPR to her and called me as he was standing in front of her saying, ‘Mom, why couldn’t I do it? I couldn’t get air into her lungs.'”

According to Entertainment Tonight, the Coroner Investigator in charge of Houston’s case said there was never any information related to her regarding the claim that Nick Gordon performed CPR on the late singer. A typical investigation begins with questioning the witnesses to ascertain how long the victim was unconscious and what, if any, life-preserving attempts were performed. The coroner was not informed of anyone administering CPR.

“As far as I know, the bodyguard and the personal assistant pulled Whitney out of the bathtub, but they did not perform CPR. They called downstairs telling them to call 911 and Beverly Hills Police Department was on-scene in less than five minutes.”

What does this say about the boyfriend of Bobbi Kristina Brown? The Improper reports this could be an attempt by Gordon to provide a criminal defense due to drug abuse if he is indicted on charges of harming Bobbi Kristina, as well as a PR stunt to prove how much he loved Bobbi Kristina.
