Is ‘RHONYC’ Star Bethenny Frankel A Diva? Source Claims She’s Demanding To Approve Footage For The Show

RHONYC star Bethenny Frankel is reportedly demanding she approve footage of the Bravo reality series before it airs. According to a March 12 report by Radar Online, Bravo needed Frankel to return to RHONYC in order to boost ratings, and Frankel took full advantage of the situation.

“Bethenny wanted control over any footage she was included in. She didn’t want to come across as pathetic in the aftermath of her failed talk show, and doomed marriage. Bravo balked at first, but realized Bethenny wouldn’t come back without it.”

Frankel was one of the original five housewives when RHONYC premiered years ago, but rather than continue as one of the group, she ultimately left the series after season three in order to pursue her own show. The show, titled Bethenny Getting Married, followed her and Jason Hoppy as they walked down the aisle and welcomed their first child. After tying the knot, Frankel and Hoppy renamed their spinoff Bethenny Ever After, and continued to allow fans into their private life. After three seasons, Frankel and Hoppy moved on from the show, and months later, ended their marriage.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Frankel has also been accused of running the show when it came to RHONYC‘s promotional activities.

“We all thought it was season seven of the show, but apparently it is ‘Bethenny’s return’ season,” a source told Confidenti@l earlier this month.

Typically, each of the RHONYC stars would be participating in interviews and other press events to promote the upcoming season, but with Frankel on board, things have reportedly been much different. Now, instead of promotions being equally distributed among cast members, Frankel is getting first dibs, and the rest of the RHONYC cast gets her leftovers.

“The shows Bethenny refuses to do will be handed out to the rest of the ladies, like leftovers. Bethenny is practically running the press campaign. If they want her to promote the show, then they have to play by her rules. She doesn’t want to appear with the new ladies she has just met, but has agreed to do press with LuAnn (de Lesseps) and Ramona (Singer).”

The RHONYC cast was also upset after the trailer for The Real Housewives of New York City season seven aired on Extra TV with the headline, “Bethenny’s back.”

“How do you think that made the rest of them feel? And yes, they complained.”

RHONYC‘s seventh season premieres on April 7 at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
