Katharine McPhee’s new show “Smash” debuted to great ratings and positive reviews and now the former American Idol star has landed inside the pages of GQ.
“Smash” focuses on McPhee’s character as she tries to make her mark on Broadway. McPhee admits that the show may have a hard time bringing in a straight male crowd, but tells GQ that “Smash” is well worth it. And besides, you owe her. McPhee told GQ:
“Listen. I go see all the guy movies, so now I know I love them. But you have to be open to it. I would say to the girlfriends out there: Just nail him down, make him watch an episode with you.”
McPhee also says that unlike “Glee,” “Smash” won’t bombard you with musical numbers. And if that isn’t incentive enough, the rising star said that if the audience grows enough by episode five, she’ll take off her clothes. McPhee said:
“Okay, how about this: What if I tell your readers that in episode five I take off all my clothes?… “I mean… (I won’t) But can’t we just say that?”
Did you watch “Smash?” If you did you were one of 11.5 million people who tuned in for the premier.
If you’re interested in the new show, or just want to see if Katharine McPhee will keep her un-promised word of getting naked, here’s the trailer of “Smash.”
