A Kelly Clarkson & Demi Lovato Duet? Kelly Says ‘It Will Totally Happen’

Kelly Clarkson may have a hard time finding artists to collaborate with these days, but she is definitely up for collaborating with Demi Lovato. The “Heartbeat” singer confirmed that she plans to work on some new music with the young singer.

Clarkson, 32, revealed in an interview with MTV news that she wants to collaborate with Lovato, 22. The American Idol Season 1 winner told Christian Garibaldi that she and Lovato wanted to work together before, but were unable to due to circumstances out of her control. Clarkson is promising her fans that she will collaborate with the “Neon Lights” singer in the near future.

“We almost did, we almost got to work together. I was pregnant and she had asked me to sing. I totally was down, and I think it just didn’t work out.”

“She was touring, I was super pregnant and not feeling well and it didn’t work out this time, but it totally will. I love her; she’s so sweet. Every time we see each other, she’s always like, ‘I like Kelly Clarkson!’ She’s always so nice, I love it. So awesome, we’re both Texans.”

Demi revealed to fans on Twitter that Kelly Clarkson is one of her “dream collaborations.” Other musicians on her list included Christina Aguilera, Drake Ed Sheeran, Eminem, Marc Anthony, Macklemore, and Nicki Minaj. Clarkson recently revealed that she’s having a hard time securing collaborations with big artists. She said in an interview that she was constantly turned down for collaborations, and felt like she has “the plague.”

Lovato has always been vocal about working with Clarkson. According to HollyWire, the singer said that she’s been a huge fan of Clarkson for a long time. Lovato also revealed a past interview that she had a screen name under the title “Little Kelly.”

Demi and Kelly have worked together before. The two performed at a Christmas concert back in 2011, according to the source. Demi and Kelly sang “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” at the Jingle Ball in New York City. It’s obvious that the two singers’ voices mesh well together. Some fans would also say that their music is somewhat similar as well. Hopefully, everything works out this time around so that Demi and Kelly can finally collaborate in the studio.

Kelly Clarkson just released her seventh studio album, Piece By Piece, back in February. She also announced her North American tour last week. Meanwhile, Demi Lovato released her last and fourth studio album, Demi, in May 2013. Fans are patiently waiting for the singer to release her fifth album, which is currently in the works.
