Teenager Says Killing Neighbor was Amazing
Alyssa Bustamonte who is charged with murder for stabbing, cutting and slitting the throat of her nine year old neighbor wrote in her diary the night of the killing that it was “amazing and pretty enjoyable”. She had to stop writing to go laughingly out to church.
Her journal was read in a court room in Missouri during the sentencing phase of Bustamonte’s trial. Bustamonte could get life with parole.
A handwriting expert testified that he was able to isolate what Bustamonte had written in her journal then tried to rub out with blue ink. He said the journal said,
“I just f—— killed someone. I strangled them and slit their throat and stabbed them now they’re dead. I don’t know how to feel atm. It was ahmazing. As soon as you get over the “ohmygawd I can’t do this” feeling, it’s pretty enjoyable. I’m kinda nervous and shaky though right now. Kay, I gotta go to church now…lol.”
Bustamante pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and armed criminal action last month and faces at most a sentence of life in prison with a chance for parole. The least she could get is 10 years. The victim’s mother pleaded with the judge to give Bustamonte the maximum.
Eli Patty Preiss, the victim’s mother, described her daughter as “happy, little girl,”, She had begged her mother to go next door to the Bustamonte’s house to play with Alyssa’s younger sister. She never returned.
Preiss said,
“So much has been lost at the hands of this evil monster. Elizabeth was given a death sentence and we were given a life sentence.I hate her, I hate everything about her.”
Defense attorneys asked for leniency and said that Bustamonte had an awful childhood. there were numerous references in the journal where she talked about murder and suicide. One entry said she wanted to burn down a house with all the occupants inside.
“If I don’t talk about it, I bottle it up, and when I explode someone’s going to die,” She wrote

Life in prison is too good for this evil monster. She should get the death penalty. Creatures like her are no use to society. She knows full well what she did and has no remorse. Eye for an eye. Put her to death!

She should get life in prison with out possible parole. She does not need to be released ever. She needs psychological help as well. I do not believe the death penalty is just..its a quick ending and she would no longer have to live with what she has done. Death penalty is the easy way out.

I had a bad childhood too. That doesn't give me the right to kill an innocent child. It doesn't give her the right either. This is sickening and sad. As a mother my greatest fear is something terrible happening to my son. It breaks my heart that this mother and father won't see their daughter grow up. I think she should get life in prison. Death would be too easy.

I don't know if psychological treatment would help this person. I don't think she would have a religious epiphany in prison, either, since she seemed to be going to church when she killed that little girl. If she has no remorse, and cannot be rehabilitated, there is no point in wasting taxpayer dollars on imprisoning her to "punish" her. She won't feel punished, or sorry, or a need for change. She may just try to harm others in the prison system. I think the death penalty would be just in this case. 2nd choice, life without parole in a very secure facility.

I say to let her go to psychological treatment, jail for five years, then more psycological treatment. If she kills again, inject her and take the bitch out.
