Suzanne Somers, Joyce DeWitt, Reunite After 30-Years [Video]

Suzanne Somers and Joyce DeWitt haven’t seen each other since the end of “Three’s Company” more than 30 years ago. The two actresses, who played Janet and Chrissy, reunited today on Somers’ new internet show “Breaking Through.”

The third member of the iconic show, John Ritter, passed away in 2003.

USA Today reports that Somers and DeWitt had a falling out after the end of “Three’s Company.” Sommers was fired halfway through the show’s run over a compensation dispute. The firing led to a public lawsuit that caused tension between the cast.

According to IMDB, Somers demanded a higher salary and when she wasn’t given she started to refuse to show up for work. Eventually producers decided to write her out of the show.

But despite the falling out 30-years ago, Suzanne Somers and Joyce DeWitt seemed like old friends on “Breaking Through” today.

Here’s a video of the reunion.

Suzanne Somers and Joyce DeWitt talked fondly of their co-star John Ritter.

Here are some more memories from “Three’s Company.”

Did you watch “Three’s Company?”

Nope- this is the first time they've seen one another since the TC days.

  12. What fun, what joy to find this reunion between Joyce and Suzanne. I loved every minute. I worked on this show and loved both of these girls. I have my very own fond memories of those days. These three, John, Joyce, and Suzanne, did an extremely unusual thing — they planned and paid for a magnificent party at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel for the entire crew! I have never heard of the actors/stars ever doing such a thing. The professional photographs that they arranged to have taken of the attending couples is still my favorite. We all had so much fun.

  13. That's great! I am glad that they reunited.

  14. I STILL cant believe Jack Tripper is dead. RIP good buddy……

John Spiller is an author, entrepreneur, consumer advocate, and weathered survivor of corporate America. His shocking and controversial new book is titled The Ampersand Diaries: AT&T and the Life Lessons Learned from the Trenches of an American Icon. It is now available at http://www.amazon.com/ or on his Amazon-based website http://www.createspace.com/3598985 which features a detailed description of the book’s contents.

  19. I found your story about these three very interesting and enjoyed learning what they were really like. I'm so happy they were nice people who appreciated their crew and that you have such great memories! Your experience was very special indeed — not many people have the opportunity to work on a hit television series, and it was certainly one of the biggest of its day!!! Thanks for sharing! :)

I wonder how much plastic surgery Suzanne Sommers has had? Botox? Juvederm? I'm glad they talked…but why on earth did it take 30 years?

  25. I remember I had such a big crush on Joyce Dewitt during Three's Company. I remember back in high school I had an assignment in Spanish class, where we were to write a letter of admiration, more or less a love letter, to a celebrity or public figure whom we were infatuated with or whom we admired – but, of course we did not send these letters. I remember I wrote my letter directed towards Joyce Dewitt, and my Spanish teacher thought it was such a great letter she showed it to the other teachers in school.

Both Joyce and Suzanne look great, but I will always be more of a fan of Joyce because she seems so much more genuine. Those dark eyes of Joyce's still sparkle. And so sad that John Ritter passed way too early in his life, he is missed by so many people.

  26. Yep, it was a great show!

Josh Mattes is some dude that likes to make fun of other peoples comments on news stories. He doesn't have any books out but he does have a website available at http://www.durhee.com and on that website he rambles on about nothing constantly. Check it out! Self promotion kicks ass!

My Grandfather was Percy Ewalt DeWitt, Joyce & I are related (distant, but related) and I enjoyed Three's Company growing up, thou it was labeled a Sit-Com, I learned many things watching the show. 1.) 2 hot women can live with 1 man (My dream!) , 2.) John Ritters character was pretending to be homosexual, in front of Mr. Roper, first time I ever heard the word Homosexual, 3.) OK… it was a funny show!

Dawn, thanks for sharing your experience here. My friend, Amy Blanc, used to work on "In the Heat of the Night", and many other shows and movies, and she would tell me what it was like working with Elizabeth Montgomery, Archie Bunker, etc. We laughed the whole time talking about this.

If I am having a bad day, I go to my DVR and I keep the recordings and play them. I love watching 3's Company. I used to work in Television myself, but not to this extent. I was a photographer and I can say that when you work in this field, you are FAMILY! I wish there were more shows on like 3's Company!

  34. John Ritter is still one of my favorite comedy actors. He carried that show. It still makes me laugh when it comes on at Nick at nite. Thank you for an amazing show.
