Kristen Stewart Proud: ‘Twilight’ Isn’t Something To Be Ashamed Of Says Stewart

Kristen Stewart is proud of her role in Twilight, despite getting a lot of criticism for it. According to Gossip Cop, Stewart recently spoke out about the franchise which really gave her a name in the industry, and said that she is not ashamed of playing a character that some people don’t look at as being serious.

“I’m always asked about what type of things I want to do, and if I make decisions based on my last project. Say I do a big franchise movie about a vampire that falls in love with a normal girl. It’s like, ‘Now do you want to show them that you can be a real, serious actor?’ It’s like, ‘Was I not being a real, serious actor?'”

Kristen Stewart should be proud of her work in Twilight because it was wildly successful. While there are certainly plenty of people that have their own opinions about the films, Kristen brought Bella Swan to life, and she had a huge part in a franchise that earned billions of dollars — and that’s not something that she takes lightly.

“I mean, it was a long process, so it’s hard to generalize about it as a whole. It wasn’t entirely cohesive. We ebbed and flowed. I will definitely acknowledge that. But the intention is so f*cking pure in a weird way. Anybody who wants to talk sh*t about Twilight, I completely get it, but there’s something there that I’m endlessly, and to this day, f*cking proud of. My memory of it felt — still feels — really good.”

Kristen Stewart is in the new issue of Interview Magazine where she talks about her experience with The Twilight Saga, and just how it has changed her. According to Mail Online, Stewart has decided to take some time off from acting after doing a few films post-Twilight(of course she can afford it since the franchise will pretty much pay her bills forever).

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, KStew needed a break from the crazy attention and the demands of being a celebrity. While she may never actually escape that completely (perhaps one downside of being a part of such a popular franchise), she said that she just needed some time to “breathe.”

Almost every thing that she does is scrutinized, which is exhausting, but Stewart handles it fairly well. Are you a KStew fan?
