Sharon Stone felt “broken” after losing custody of her son

Sharon Stone was considered to be one of the sexiest women in Hollywood in her prime, but the actress admitted in a recent interview that she felt anything but sexy after suffering a brain hemorrhage over ten years ago.

“My brain was pushed forward into my face. I’d lost 18 percent of my body mass,” Stone told AARP. “I came out of the hospital with short- and long-term memory loss. My lower left leg was numb. I couldn’t hear out of my right ear. The side of my face was falling down. I thought, ‘I’ll never be pretty again. Who’s going to want to be around me?'”

Sadly, things continued to get worse for Stone. Two years after suffering a brain hemorrhage, Phil Bronstein, her husband, filed for divorce. The two had an adopted son, Roan, and after the actress moved back to Los Angeles, Bronstein was eventually awarded custody of Roan. But despite all of Stone’s hardships–despite feeling broken–she pushed onwards.

“I had had a brain hemorrhage and was an actress who had made sexy movies,” she said. “I would go to these [philanthropic] events where I had to get on stage. I would be in the wings, with people looking at me, my head on the floor, praying: ‘God, please help me. I know I have to go out there and raise money. But I’ve lost my child, I’ve lost my health, I’ve lost everything.’ I was just broken.”

Now, things are looking up for the 53-year-old actress. While staying in Los Angeles, the actress adopted two sons, who are now 5 and 6. The actress explained that, after suffering two miscarriages, she knew that adoption was right for her.

“The last time I lost the baby, I went into 36 hours of labour. While we were at the hospital, our adoption attorney called. I thought, ‘This is such a godsend. This is so right.’ I always thought I would adopt. Even when I was young, I used to look up how to adopt.”
