‘Girl Meets World’ Spoilers: Rider Strong’s Shawn Hunter Now A Semi-Regular
Girl Meets World fans absolutely love the Boy Meets World spin-off series, and the most amazing episodes of the season so far have been when Rider Strong’s character, Shawn Hunter, has come to New York to interact with his best friends Cory and Topanga.
According to Bustle, fans will be thrilled to learn that Shawn will be back on the series quite often throughout it’s run as the writers confirmed via Twitter that Mr. Hunter has officially become a semi-regular on the show.
That’s right, there are so many more Cory and Shawn moments to come and the anticipation of it all is so exciting. In the last episode in which we saw Shawn, it was Maya’s birthday and Riley, Cory, and Topanga plotted to try and get Shawn together with Maya’s mother Katie, as Riley hoped that Shawn could eventually become Maya’s step-father.
While Shawn becoming Maya’s father would be ideal for Girl Meets World fans because we would get to see Shawn much more often, he would be in NYC all the time, and lonely, hard working Katie would have a great man in her life, Maya would also get the father she deserves.
However, one former Boy Meets World character could have something to say about Shawn’s possible romance with Katie. The Huffington Post reports that Shawn’s former love and longtime girlfriend, Angela, will be back for at least one episode in Season 2 of the series, which is currently filming.
Previously, Shawn has revealed that he tried to make things work with Angela when she moved away to Europe, but they couldn’t make it last.
However, Angela won’t be the only former character to return for Girl Meets World. Shawn’s father, Chet, who died during a later season of Boy Meets World, will also be back in spirit former, Cory’s little sister Morgan will also make an appearance, and of course fan favorite character Eric Matthews, Cory’s goofy older brother, will also be back for at least two episodes, the writers have confirmed.
The writers also revealed that Eric will be going through a life changing event. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Eric Matthews will appear in an episode that also features Shawn and Mr. Feeny and the original gang will return to Pittsburgh to retrieve something they left at Feeny’s house long ago, and Riley and Miley will likely accompany them on their journey.
