‘Sister Wives’ Divorce: Episode Will Show Real Reason Kody Brown Divorced Meri

Sister Wives fans will soon learn why Kody Brown divorced first wife Meri to wed fourth wife Robyn. The Brown family has been tweeting up a storm about their show, and it looks like they’re going to use the divorce drama to drum up ratings for the TLC reality series.

According to Starcasm, TLC has been airing back-to-back episodes of Sister Wives. Polygamist patriarch Kody Brown and the members of his harem have been using Twitter to entice fans to tune in, and they recently revealed that all will be explained starting with the episodes airing this Sunday.

The Inquisitr previously reported the shocking news that Kody Brown divorced first wife Meri to get hitched to his youngest wife, Robyn, late last year. The Browns released a statement saying that they had chosen to “legally restructure” their family, but they didn’t offer any further details about the move. It’s been speculated that the Sister Wives stars made the major family change because of Robyn’s three children from a previous marriage.

“Being legally married to Kody would help with any sort of issues such as custody, insurance, taxes, etc.” Starcasm pointed out.

However, it’s easy to see why some Sister Wives fans might think that Meri is simply ready to walk away — she’s taken two big steps toward becoming an independent woman by divorcing Kody and going back to school to pursue a career.

The Browns haven’t responded to any of this speculation — instead they keep telling fans to tune in to this week’s episodes of Sister Wives. One of the episodes will be all about Meri Brown, so it might address the divorce. According to Kody and his family, viewers need to watch for the next few weeks if they want to learn the entire story about the divorce.

In one of her tweets, Robyn Brown made it clear that Meri Brown is still one of her sister wives.

However, if Meri really is taking the necessary steps to leave the polygamist family, it wouldn’t be the first time a wife tried to walk away. According to Radar Online, Janelle actually left her plural family for two years after the birth of her fifth child. Janelle made the decision to leave after “a particularly nasty fight with Meri.” She decided to give Kody and her sister wives a second chance after they moved to Utah.

The next back-to-back episodes of Sister Wives will air starting at 9 p.m. ET on TLC. Will you tune in to find out why Kody divorced Meri Brown?
