Phaedra Parks: ‘My Mother Is My Safety Net’ After Apollo’s Freak Out

The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks has been trying to get her life back on track after her estranged husband, Apollo Nida, reported to a Kentucky jail to serve eight years for mail fraud. This is his second major conviction, so the judge sentenced him harshly. Now, his two sons won’t get to see him for years, but Parks doesn’t mind. According to the Inquisitr, she has admitted that bringing her sons to the jail is not her top priority.

Phaedra Parks has yet to bring her sons to see Apollo behind bars. Even though it was dramatic prior to him going away because he was so emotionally charged, it is possible that he has relaxed and calmed himself down. On Sunday’s episode of the show, Parks got some helpful – but scary – advice from her mother.

According to a new Bravo report, The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks didn’t shudder when her mother expressed her concern about finding the entire family dead inside the home prior to him going away.

“My mother’s advice was not hard to hear. That’s not to say that dealing with the situation is not difficult, but my mother has always been a good voice of reason. She has the ability to very quickly get to the bottom line and identify what is most important,” Phaedra Parks reveals about her mother’s thoughts.

Phaedra’s mother was concerned that she would walk into the home and find Parks and her two sons dead because of Apollo’s outrageous behavior. Nida had threatened to burn down the home, so Parks’ mother thought it would be best to remove her from the premises as he geared up to turn himself in. While fans were shocked at his potential to hurt the family, Phaedra appreciated her mother’s honesty.

“I needed to hear those things from her to validate my own feelings and get me to do what I pretty much knew I needed to do. It was hard coming to the realization that there was a potential threat to our safety, and that’s not something that should be ignored. My mother is my safety net, and is always there to make sure I make the right decisions,” Parks reveals.

As fans of The Real Housewives of Atlanta will see next week, Apollo will accuse Phaedra of cheating on him. There had been stories about Phaedra seeing a man by the name of Chocolate.
