Is Bruce Jenner Guilty Of Vehicular Manslaughter In The Fatal Malibu Accident? Police Open Investigation

Keeping Up with the Kardashians dad Bruce Jenner has suffered a lot of turmoil in his life lately. Most recently, Jenner was involved in a car accident involving several vehicles, which unfortunately resulted in the death of one of the drivers. Seven other people, five children and two adults, suffered injuries and were taken to the hospital. Bruce Jenner was not harmed at all.

The accident occurred this week in Malibu on Pacific Coast Highway. According to a report by CNN, Bruce Jenner was driving a Cadillac Escalade SUV, towing an all-terrain vehicle on a trailer. Reportedly, Bruce Jenner rear-ended the car directly in front of him, a Lexus sedan, sending it careening into oncoming traffic, where it was struck by a Hummer H2. Sadly, the driver was fatally injured. Two cars ahead of Jenner were also involved in the accident.

Bruce Jenner blamed the accident on the paparazzi, claiming that he was being chased. Police, however, found no evidence of this. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Lt. John Lecrivain shed a bit of light on the situation.

“As of right now, there is no indication that Bruce Jenner was being chased by paparazzi at the time of the crash. There was a possibility that paparazzi was following him at the time of the crash, but that is a very regular occurrence, and (there is) no indication at this time it was a contributing factor of the crash.”

A report by the Huffington Post states that Bruce Jenner, as well as the others involved in the horrific accident, have complied with the police investigation. Sergeant Philip Brooks stated that Jenner submitted blood samples and passed a sobriety test. Bruce offered this evidence voluntarily.

“[Jenner] did not appear intoxicated or under the influence of anything at the time.”

Rumors are circulating that Bruce Jenner was texting while driving at the time of the accident. If so, he could be charged with vehicular manslaughter. Police are uncertain if this is true, but plan to obtain search warrants to check his phone. It is noted that there is evidence, such as skid marks, showing that Bruce attempted to avoid the accident.

Jenner is not the only accident participant involved in the investigation. The driver of the first car, a Prius, is also under the microscope, as her story recanting the accident is vague. The true details of the accident have yet to be ascertained.

Many people are upset by the media coverage of the plight of Bruce Jenner, rather than the accident victim who was killed. At this time, there is little to no information regarding that individual. Newsday reports that the victim is a woman around the age of 70.

This tragic car accident has surely left all parties reeling. Though the direct cause is yet unclear, police are working to sort out the details. Bruce Jenner is reportedly cooperating with the police.
