Amy Duggar Bombshell: ’19 Kids And Counting’ Star Admits To Being Born Out Of Wedlock

Amy Duggar recently divulged a family secret that her 19 Kids and Counting costars are probably pretty ashamed of. However, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar shouldn’t hold anything against their niece for choosing to be honest.

According to Us Weekly, 28-year-old Amy Duggar recently mustered up the courage to respond to a Radar Online report about her parents. The tabloid claimed that Jim Bob’s 52-year-old sister, Deanna Duggar, had Amy out of wedlock, and it provided proof in the form of quotes from an old episode of 18 Kids and Counting.

Deanna Duggar married 52-year-old artist Terry Jordan in 2006, and Amy calls Terry her dad. Radar hinted that Terry might not be Amy’s biological father, but something Deanna once said makes it sound like Terry knocked her up all those years ago.

“Terry and I knew each other a long time ago, and I got pregnant with Amy,” Deanna said during a 2009 episode of 18 Kids and Counting. “And so, we dated each other on and off for quite some time. Then we finally decided you know what, we need to get married! So we got married, we’ve been together 3 years.”

Deanna’s comment seems to suggest that Terry got her pregnant with Amy in 1986 and that it just took the young parents a long time to settle down.

Amy Duggar responded to Radar Online’s report in an emotional Instagram post, but she chose not to address the tabloid’s claim that Terry Jordan might not be her biological father.

“The tabloids are telling the truth, my mom and dad did have me out of wedlock,” Amy wrote. “Just because we are Christians doesn’t make us perfect, it just makes us forgiven. Just because I share the Duggar name doesn’t mean my life is perfect!”

Amy went on to claim that a higher power played a part in the publishing of the tabloid reports about her birth.

“God knew my uncle would have a hit show and that somehow I would be apart of it. He knew my parents story would be told. How amazing is that?! Your testimony is everything. Everyone struggles, and sins differently. but Jesus paid it all!!”

Duggar ended her lengthy post with an anti-abortion message.

“I’m extremely grateful to my mom for choosing to give me life. I’m sure she was scared, young, ridiculed, and felt ashamed. God’s grace covered it though! She’s beautiful inside and out. I’m also grateful that I have such an awesome relationship with my dad! Seriously he’s the greatest! Jesus, thank you for restoring hearts, relationships and families. No matter what you have done, don’t think your a second you’re alone in this world. Jesus died so that you may be free! John3:16 #prolife”

Amy Duggar’s message was accompanied by a photo of her parents.

It’s been a rough week for Amy. In addition to dealing with tabloid reports about her parents, she’s been busy comforting her injured boyfriend. According to In Touch Weekly, Dillon King was recently involved in a serious car accident that left him with a broken femur. In an Instagram post, Amy told her followers that King had to have an 18-inch-rod put in his leg.

Amy Duggar might not choose to have a child out of wedlock like her mother did, but the 19 Kids and Counting star’s relationship with Dillon King is proof that she doesn’t abide by the same dating rules as her cousins. Before Jessa and Jill Duggar married their spouses, they had to follow strict courtship rules that forbade kissing, hand holding, unchaperoned dates, and front hugs. However, Amy has shared numerous Instagram photos that show her smooching Dillon King and hanging out with him with no accountability partner in sight.

What do you think of Amy Duggar’s response to the reports about her parents? And do you think she’ll be the next< em>19 Kids and Counting star to walk down the aisle?
