Stassi Schroeder Spinoff: Did Lisa Vanderpump Axe The Idea?
A Stassi Schroeder spinoff may have just been vetoed by Lisa Vanderpump. According to a new report, Schroeder was in talks for a Vanderpump Rules spinoff show months ago, but now that Schroeder has had a falling out with Vanderpump, the series may never happen.
On January 26, LALATE reported the following.
“Did Lisa Vanderpump shoot down a Stassi Schroeder spinoff of Vanderpump Rules? LALATE in September 2014 first exclusively reported that Stassi Schroeder (without her boyfriend) was in development for a Pump Rules spinoff. The production was no mystery. So what happened? In fall 2014, Stassi Schroeder had aligned herself with a Bravo production company to do the show. But missing was the company who has the production rights for RHOBH and Pump Rules spinoffs, Evolution Media. So when LALATE first reported that Stassi Schroeder was doing a spinoff, the logical assumption was that Vanderpump consented. But now something else appears to have happened.”
Last year, as Vandepump Rules season three filmed in Los Angeles, talks of a Stassi Schroeder spinoff hit the web. However, a short time later, Schroeder and Vanderpump had a falling out. As fans of the show have seen, Vanderpump felt Schroeder left Los Angeles without a proper “goodbye,” and Schroeder feels Vanderpump only sides with those she can control. In one scene, Schroeder was seen reprimanding Vanderpump, telling her that her behavior was “not okay” after she recommended she give Katie Maloney another chance at their friendship.
As the Inquisitr reported, Schroeder has been speaking negatively about Vanderpump, both on the show and off, ever since. In her latest interview with Wetpaint Entertainment, Schroeder claimed Vanderpump was treating her poorly for no good reason.
“Lisa’s kind of moody. I feel like she’s always mad at me and I don’t really understand why. If you don’t follow Lisa’s rules exactly and you don’t just do what she expects of you, you’re cast aside. I don’t work at SUR anymore and when she wants me to do something I just don’t do it. So she kind of is just focusing on everyone else who’s doing whatever she wants.”
As for the basis of the Stassi Schroeder spinoff, LALATE claimed the series would be a prank show.
“In September 2014 producers for World of Wonder (MDLA, MDLNY) told news that they were doing a new show. The show was to be called ‘Vanderpump Rules Superfan, hosted by Stassi Schroeder.’ They further told news that they were ‘looking for … a loyal Vanderpump Rules viewer, who happens to be obsessed with Stassi Schroeder, and lives in Southern California.’ They will then prank the female guest’s boyfriend or husband, drawing upon Vanderpump Rules as the backdrop.”
Bravo has yet to comment on the news, or cancelation, of the rumored Stassi Schroeder spinoff.
