‘Walking Dead’ Actor Norman Reedus Turning Rock Star? [Video]

Many fans of The Walking Dead would argue that Norman Reedus is already a rock star in his own right. But is the man who plays the iconic character of Daryl Dixon really ready to step up and become a singing sensation? Well, probably not, but after you see the video of him covering a Sleater-Kinney song, you’ll likely agree that isn’t an entirely bad thing.

The Walking Dead‘s Reedus was one of several celebrities that participated in a group cover of Sleater-Kinney’s “No City to Love,” along with Ellen Page, Sarah Silverman and several Saturday Night Live alumni. Another familiar face in the video is Fred Armisen, one half of the comedic duo on Portlandia, along with Sleater-Kinney guitarist and vocalist Carrie Brownstein.

Norman Reedus sings along at a couple of different points in the video, and let’s say his performance is about par with the other celebrities featured. Which is to say, none of them are probably going to give up their day jobs for a singing career.

Norman wears sunglasses as he sings along, sounding a little unsure of himself, which is a bit surprising given how handy and confident the guy is with a crossbow. And Reedus is no stranger to rock and roll, after appearing in some music videos.

The internet was buzzing recently about Reedus appearing in an old Radiohead video, and Norman was also featured in Lady Gaga’s “Judas” video. In one rather cheeky moment, Reedus nonchalantly pours a beer over Gaga’s derriere while she’s singing.

Romance may not be Reedus’ greatest strength on screen, as illustrated by his Walking Dead character Daryl Dixon, who hasn’t managed to hook up with anyone in the zombie apocalypse yet. However, if you’re looking for a strong, silent-type guy who can handle knives and crossbows and wins over female and male fans alike, that’s right in Norman’s wheelhouse.

As far as singing, that may not be his greatest talent, but you can bet fans will line up to hear him in this video, like everything else Norman does or touches. How is it that guy makes everything look cool? And if the singing thing doesn’t work out, Norman Reedus can always fall back on his acting. He seems to be doing pretty well on The Walking Dead and fans seem to like him, don’t you think?
