Joseph Gordon-Levitt Gets Married In Secret End-Of-Year Ceremony

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is married. The Dark Knight Rises and Inception star got hitched to long time girlfriend Tasha McCauley in a secret ceremony on December 20.

Gordon-Levitt, who usually keeps his personal relationships to himself, confirmed to People that he and McCauley tied the knot at the couple’s home just days before Christmas.

Tasha McCauley is the CEO of Fellow Robots, a robotics company based at NASA Research Park in Silicon Valley, California, and up until now, Joseph hasn’t said more than a few words about his significant other, commenting that Tasha doesn’t want anything to do with the Hollywood lifestyle.

“”I have a girlfriend but I tend not to really like to talk about it in public. The girl that I’m with, she really doesn’t want to be a part of that.”

In the last five years, Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s star in Hollywood has been on a steady rise. In 2009, Joseph captured the coveted role of Cobra Commander in G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra. In 2010, Gordon-Levitt replaced James Franco to star alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in Chris Nolan’s seminal “film within a film within a film” Inception. Joseph’s relationship with director Chris Nolan gave “rise” to a role in the third film of the Dark Knight Trilogy. In The Dark Night Rises, Gordon-Levitt played John Blake, a Gotham police officer who refuses to compromise on his morals and assists Batman in defending Gotham City from the evil Bane.

2012 gave Joseph Gordon-Levitt the chance to star with Bruce Willis in the science fiction time travel film Looper. The same year, Joseph also did some work for Steven Spielberg as Robert Todd Lincoln in the Lincoln biopic.

Gordon-Levitt played Johnny, a new character in Robert Rodriguez’ sequel to Sin City, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.

Just two months ago, it was confirmed that Gordon-Levitt would be playing NSA security leaker Edward Snowden in an upcoming film by Oliver Stone.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt made news on the internet last summer when he said he identifies himself as a “male feminist.”

“If you look at history, women are an oppressed category of people. There’s a long, long history of women suffering abuse, injustice and not having the same opportunities as men, and I think that’s been very detrimental to the human race as a whole. I’m a believer that if everyone has a fair chance to be what they want to be and do what they want to do, it’s better for everyone. It benefits society as a whole.”

Gordon-Levitt’s next film, The Walk, (about French high-wire artist Philippe Petit’s attempt to cross between the Twin Towers in 1974) will be released in October of 2015.
