Tragedy In Texas: Police Investigating Possible Murder-Suicide That Left Four Dead

Police are investigating a tragedy in Crowley, Texas after the discovery of four bodies, including one child, in what appears to be a murder-suicide.

According to the Associated Press, police responded to a report that a 9-year-old boy inside the Texas home had called a relative to say that a man was injured after he attempted to commit suicide. The relative then called 911, said Crowley Police Chief Luis Soler.

Police then went to the home four minutes after the relative called and found two women, one man, and a female child dead at the scene. The 9-year-old boy who made the call was also found and appeared to not be injured, Soler said.

“Initially the 9-year-old was at the residence when all this went down. That child is fine and in protective custody with us. We’re talking with the child and doing forensic evidence to determine what exactly happened, because, at this point, it seems he was the only witness.”

According to NBC Dallas-Fort Worth, the 9-year-old boy was released back to his family Monday morning.

During a press conference, the only thing Soler said about the bodies found at the Texas home were that there were “obvious signs of trauma.”

“We don’t know exactly what happened out there.”

Soler added that the victims of the tragedy have not been identified, and the medical examiner’s office has yet to reveal the official cause of their deaths. Soler also mentioned that the four could be relatives, and it is too early to determine that this was, in fact, a murder-suicide.

One neighbor, Gale Daughtry, who lived next door to where the tragedy took place, said she didn’t notice any signs that indicated something like this would happen.

“Last night was quite a shock. I still can hardly believe they’re gone.”

Daughtry spoke highly of her neighbor, and she reiterated that she was surprised that something like this tragedy would happen in a small Texas community.

“I always enjoyed [him] coming outside. He always spoke; he was very friendly. I mean, there was never anything that would make me think that anything like this would ever, ever happen.”

Crowley, Texas is located south of Fort Worth and west of Burleson, according to the town’s official website. A 2010 Census Bureau report states that the small Texas town has a population of nearly 13,000 people.

This is the latest tragedy to take place in Texas in the month of December. A previous Inquisitr report stated that Monica Gaytan was killed at her home in Spring, Texas. Her husband, Martin Gaytan, confessed that he was responsible for killing her. However, he claimed he was defending himself, after the two had gotten into an argument, and she pulled a gun on him.
