John Mayer Tweets to Squash Rumors

John Mayer might have been watching the Super Bowl with Jennifer Aniston at a private bash in Los Angeles yesterday, but he was reaching out worldwide to slam engagement rumors through humor– and Twitter.

Over the weekend break, John made sure to let us know exactly what he was doing to get ready for the engagement we’ve been hearing about via gossip rag buzz. “Visiting the Diamond Exchange in Tustin,” and “Welding an engagement ring for my girlfriend” were two tweets that popped up this weekend: does he really expect us to believe he was soldering a ring for his sweetheart? John doesn’t strike me as the type.

Is John just messing with the media, or could he actually be trying to throw us off the scent with his OTT Twitter-fests?
