Leaked ‘Star Wars’ Story Rumors: Boba Fett Movie Like ‘Suicide Squad’ In 2016

Leaked Star Wars story rumors seem to claim that we should expected a Boba Fett movie release date in December 16, 2016. While nothing is known for certain, it seems likely the Boba Fett plot could end up being a combination of Ocean’s Eleven and the pending Suicide Squad.

In a related report by the Inquisitr, another Star Wars rumor claims the famous bounty hunter may have pulled the trigger that gave Luke Skywalker such an incentive to join up with Obi-Wan Kenobi. Earlier this year, George Lucas also made it official that Boba Fett survived the sarlacc pit, although whether that means the Boba Fett movie is set near the time frame of Star Wars Episode 7 is another matter entirely.

Officially, all we know is that an “Untitled Star Wars Project” will be released in 2016. Unofficially, the Boba Fett movie release date was accidentally confirmed for 2016 when toy manufacturer Hasbro leaked out a list of the entire Star Wars sequel release schedule.

  • 2014: Rebels
  • 2015: Episode VII
  • 2016: Boba Fett
  • 2017: Episode VIII
  • 2018: Solo
  • 2019: Episode IX
  • 2020: Red Five

This is similar to how the recently leaked Star Wars action figures gave the world some hints for the heroes and villains of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It’s also believed the reason the Boba Fett movie may be still untitled is because an aging version of Fett, or at least another bounty hunter, may be present in the 2015 movie.

The leaked Star Wars story rumors claim Boba Fett’s mission will be tied into the opening of A New Hope.

“It is a period of civil war. Rebel spaceships, striking from a hidden base, have won their first victory against the evil Galactic Empire. During the battle, Rebel spies managed to steal secret plans to the Empire’s ultimate weapon, the DEATH STAR, an armored space station with enough power to destroy an entire planet.”

The basic concept behind the Boba Fett movie is that he is part of a team of bounty hunters hired by the Rebel Alliance to steal the Death Star plans. According to Slash Film, the “information came second hand from a single good source” and although Lucasfilm officially decline to comment it’s believed the concept has merit. In addition, the Millennium Falcon may play a role in the film although it is believed Han Solo will be absent, which makes sense considering how Harrison Ford has aged.
