Missing Kenneth White Dead: Initial Kidnapping Claims Reportedly False, Arrest Expected Soon

Missing Kenneth White is dead, reports indicate, and the original story about the young boy has reportedly turned out to be false. The 5-year-old boy’s caretaker’s family had initially reported that he had been taken by two men from their home, and an AMBER alert had been issued. Now sources indicate that what happened to the young boy is quite different from those initial reports, and unfortunately, there has been a tragic ending to the 5-year-old’s life.

CBS New York reports that authorities have determined that the initial report regarding missing Kenneth White was false. As was previously reported by the Inquisitr, the boy’s caretaker’s 19-year-old daughter reportedly told police that two men wearing ski masks pinned her to the floor in the family’s Berne, New York, home and took the child Thursday afternoon. The masked men supposedly drove off in a pickup truck, and an AMBER alert was issued. The alert was canceled late Thursday evening.

Now it has been revealed that the missing boy Kenneth White was found dead by a sheriff’s K-9 unit in Clarksville, New York, near the family’s Berne trailer home. According to News 10, there is a person of interest speaking to the police. The person is said to be familiar with the family, but no other specifics regarding the person’s identity have been revealed yet.

The 5-year-old’s autopsy will be done on Friday, and officials anticipate that an arrest will be made after the autopsy is completed. According to the Times Union, Kenneth White was living with his aunt, a woman who was his legal guardian. He also had a twin sister and a 4-year-old sister.

Both of White’s parents have been involved in the investigation into what happened to the boy. Kenneth’s father, Jason White, reportedly lives in Massachusetts. The boy’s mother, Christine White, lives in Amsterdam, New York. It is said that both parents were accounted for at the time of the boy’s disappearance on Thursday.

There were two other children in the home at the time the report about Kenneth White being missing was made. A 3-year-old and 4-year-old were at the home at the time of the report, and both were unharmed. A press conference via the Sheriff’s Office is slated to take place on Friday afternoon, so more clarity regarding exactly what happened to the young boy will be revealed then.

Though authorities took the initial reports regarding the supposed kidnaping seriously after the caretaker’s daughter’s report, now that missing Kenneth White was found dead, authorities clearly have an entirely different scenario to resolve. Updates regarding the boy’s disappearance and death, and the suspect’s arrest, should be coming early Friday afternoon.
