Malia Obama Pregnant: Report Of First Daughter’s Alleged Pregnancy Spreads Through Fake News Site

Rumors that Malia Obama is pregnant spread on the internet this week, after a satirical website published a report about the president’s daughter that many people mistook for truth.

The story about the reported pregnancy came from Empire News and was actually published back in November, but started to gain traction this week when it was shared on a fake Fox News page on Facebook.

The report claimed that Malia Obama was a few months pregnant, and that the father’s identity was not disclosed.

“Sources say Malia is now in her second trimester. Mother and First Lady, Michelle Obama, says that although she will be a grandmother much younger than she planned, teen pregnancy runs in the family.

“On her father’s side of course. My mother-in-law had Barack when she was 18, so I see where Malia gets it from. I’m just so excited to decorate the nursery. The White House hasn’t seen a baby since oh, 1884 or so.

For now, Malia is staying hush-hush about the father’s identity, but one thing she would say is that he is white. ‘My mom always hoped I would get with a nice mixed-race man like dad, but love is so colorblind. Mom was probably right though. The dad already left me for some tramp. And of course, like all white men, my baby-daddy won’t want to pay his child support. I already told him, ‘You want to keep your license so you can drive that bleach-blond tramp around in your little Jaguar, right? Better step up.'”

Anyone who did some research could have found out that the Malia Obama pregnancy story was an obvious fake. Empire News is a site similar to The Onion, with a number of fake news stories, but carries a conservative tilt. Other fake stories including the reported Bin Laden shooter being attacked by “street thugs” after trying to collect a debt from a neighbor, and another story about retailers starting to refer to Christmas as “presents day.”

The story came as both Sasha and Malia Obama have come under tight scrutiny. In November, a Republican aide criticized Sasha and Malia Obama’s attire and attitude, and a candid picture of Malia wearing tight pants led to many inappropriate comments on Twitter.

The stories led Jenna Bush, the daughter of George W. Bush, to stand up for the Obama sisters.

“I’m fiercely protective of them, obviously,” said Jenna. “I don’t think that it’s easy. It’s not a job that they wanted.”

Jenna Bush did not comment directly on the report that Malia Obama is pregnant, however.
