Tim Tebow Heads To Disney World After Paying Off Walmart Layaways For Three Customers

Where did Tim Tebow go after paying off Walmart layaways for some very grateful customers? Disney World, of course. Tebow had a full day on Monday, taking on the role of Santa at Walmart and celebrity host in the Magic Kingdom, part of his job as contributor for Good Morning America.

First, the former NFL quarterback surprised three unsuspecting shoppers at the retailer’s Orlando, Florida, store with the news that GMA fully paid for the items they put on layaway. The Orlando Sentinel reports that after Tebow was done playing Santa, he headed for Disney’s Magic Kingdom to tape several segments of the Frozen Christmas Celebration, a holiday special that will air on ABC on December 25.

Before he headed to Walt Disney World, Tim Tebow thrilled Jasmine Nunes, Christina Figueiredo, and Damara Jarrett with the news that they wouldn’t have to pay for the items they put on layaway at Walmart. With Good Morning America cameras in tow, Tebow brought a little Christmas cheer to the three ladies who were not only thrilled to get a little financial help this holiday season, but were equally excited to meet the handsome football player, who is currently a free agent.

Good Morning America reports that Damara Jarrett, a mother of two young children, had $701 left to pay on her layaway account before Tebow told her that GMA was paying it off. Having the balance paid in full brought her close to tears when told him about her financial situation.

“I totally lost my car and I’m also a full time student, so I’ve got a lot of homework I’ve been catching up on and missed a lot of work. I was going to take stuff off [the account] because I can’t afford everything, and then this. Just thank you. I just want to cry.”

Figueiredo, who had $280 to pay off and Jarrett, who owed Walmart $220, were equally surprised and grateful, hugging Tebow and thanking him for his help.

After playing Santa, Tebow switched gears and played celebrity host in Disney World. Along with GMA host Robin Roberts, Tim got to spend some time with an equally big guy — Goofy.

While taping segments for the upcoming holiday special, Tebow revealed that he wasn’t used to working with “characters or giant toy soldiers” and it was a big change after spending a few years with the NFL. However, he did note that he had a background working with kids, so hosting a Christmas special geared towards children seems to be a great fit.

Watch Tim Tebow and Robin Roberts host Disney’s Frozen Christmas Celebration on Christmas Day, with a celebrity lineup that will include performances by Ariana Grande, YouTube star Lexi Walker and Prince Royce.
