‘The Voice’ Semi-Final: Who’s Likely To Return And Why There Isn’t A Clear Winner

We are nearing the climax of the seventh season of The Voice. And though the show hasn’t produced a mega superstar in previous seasons, there seems to be hope that the seventh time will be the charm.

There are good reasons to be optimistic.

The Voice continues to do well in the ratings, suggesting that it continues to be a hit with viewers. There is also a varied collection of talent on The Voice that speaks to multiple demographics.

But getting away from post-seasonal speculation, it’s the time of the competition where speculation over a likely winner is nearing its peak.

Of the five talented semi-finalists, which one seems most likely to win it all? The problem is, there really ISN’T a clear cut winner at this late stage.

Craig Wayne Boyd has the country/rock-loving Voice viewers votes, and this is a genre that has done well on this show, as has Voice coach Blake Shelton. However, saying that this is his competition to lose is nothing more than personal bias.

Remember, Team Adam has been very dominant in the votes. Adam Levine approached Voice Season 7 with ruthless precision, eliminating early front runner Taylor Phelan and only very recently being vindicated for it.

Chris Jamison found himself in the bottom four, and it was the first time this season that a Team Adam member had to sing for his survival. Jamison smoothly crooned “Georgia On My Mind” and scooted into the Top 5 with America’s last-minute blessing.

It was quite a moment on The Voice because it seemed to signal that the close to this season was going to be intensely competitive. Not one person left on The Voice lacks in talent, charisma, or popularity; each person has a unique demographic.

As such, it will be impossible to decide which specific segment of the Voice audience has the biggest say in the season’s outcome. We may not know until final episode, so expect excitement and speculation to be especially high.

Speaking of speculation, this season has added one heck of a twist: Every person eliminated as of the top 12 has a chance to make one final impression on the Voice viewers.

Whichever hopeful earns the coveted comeback spot will join the other finalists and have a very real shot at becoming the winner of Season 7 of The Voice.

When it comes to comebacks, based on America’s previous voting pattern, I highly doubt that spot will go to a woman. America has not been too happy with the women this season. If there is going to be one singular exception, it will be Voice contestant DaNica Shirey.

That’s because out of all eliminate women contestants, her elimination is freshest in the mind of Voice viewers. And unlike the other women on The Voice, her vocal control was amazingly obvious and not at all a “required taste.”

Otherwise, keep your eyes on the top six guys. There’s a good chance that this newest stipulation will only work in favor of a favorite who suffered a “surprise” elimination.

The top three finalists will likely be Matt McAndrew, Craig Wayne Boyd, and Taylor John Williams. As for fourth place dark horse, it’s a toss up between Chris Jamison and Damien Lawson. Luke Wade MIGHT get the nod, but he’ll have to do a heck of a lot better than he did during his “Instant Save” performance.

Those are my picks: Who do YOU want to see make it into the finale?
